"Justin, there was
an accident. I-"

The sound of vibrations wakes me up. I groan as I feel for my phone on the nightstand and tilt it to see who's calling. My Sam😍. I set my phone back down and let out a loud sigh. Last night was too much for me. I went to bed pissed and I wake up pissed. Thank God it's the weekend so I can just stay in and not be bothered by anyone.

I only have my eyes closed for a few minutes before the doorbell rings. Seriously, it's like 10 in the morning. I shuffle out of bed and make my way downstairs to the front door. Ruffling my hair, I open the door and my eyes widen at the girl standing in front of me.

"Hey, Justin. I know it's kind of early and unexpected, but I was in the neighborhood and wanted to drop by to say hi."

Well what a lovely surprise. Maybe my day won't be so bad. I grin at her and rest my head against the door, "Hey, Jasmine."

"So are you gonna just let me stand out here or," she starts laughing.

"Oh, right," I chuckle as I open the door wide enough for her to slip through before shutting it closed. She walks to the kitchen area and sets her purse on the counter as she sits up on the bar stool.

I walk into the kitchen and turn the stove on. "Hungry?" I ask as I take out three eggs from the plastic carton in the fridge.

"I am, actually. I just flew in this morning and didn't get to stop to eat anything."

"But your first thought was to come see me?" I turn my head around to her with a smirk. Jasmine and I have a past, but we're obviously still friends. I don't see her much, so I'm glad to see her whenever she decides to drop by.

"You know how I am," she chuckles, clasping her hands together on the counter.

"Always full of surprises," I joke. "You know I don't cook much," I laugh, remembering the many times that I tried to cook for us and ended up getting delivery.

She giggles, "As long as you make something edible, it's fine."

With my experience with cooking, I settle for making scrambled egg sandwiches. I've had a lot of time to actually learn how to cook, especially since i've been with Sam. Her dad's a professional chef in Australia and when I went there with her to meet him, he gave me a few lessons.

Jasmine and I converse as we eat and she fills me in with everything that's been happening in her life. I wish I was more involved her and my other friends, but I'm just too busy and my schedule usually never matches up with anyone else's. I try to take advantage of my days off, but even then all I want to do is just rest or lounge since I'm constantly working. I cherish people like Jasmine because she understands.

"So what really brings you here, Jas?" I ask, putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I've never washed the dishes since I've lived here. Not my thing.

"Well, I've been traveling around doing shows and I have a two week break so I decided to come home," she says, getting up from the stool and walking around the counter to where I am.

"I meant like to my house," I chuckle as I lean back onto the island in the middle of the kitchen.

She covers her face for a moment before speaking, "Oh. Funny story actually," she pauses.

I smile at her, "I'm listening."

"Okay, well on the car ride to my house, your song came on and I just thought to myself that I haven't seen you in a while so I told the driver to bring me here. I actually didn't expect you to be home, but I saw your Escalade parked outside so I lucked out," she looks at me with a small smile playing on her lips.
