CHAPTER 9: Shinnok's Demons

The sky was red, the demons flew across the sky. Now flames and smokes were coming out of most of the buildings nearby, and there weren't any soldiers to be seen anywhere. "Come let's hurry" Cassie said and ran down the street and towards where Kenshi and Johnny said they would wait. I ran after her. Cassie stopped a few meters from there and hid behind a flipped over car, she signaled me to hide to. I hid behind a tree and took out my gun. I looked over to where Kenshi and Johnny were from behind the tree and saw three demons around something. "What are they doing? Where is Johnny and Kenshi?" I whispered over to Cassie hoping she would hear me. Lucky she did. "Seems like they are eating a dead guy. Kenshi and Johnny must have gone somewhere else when the demons arrived. But they have fought. " She pointed over to dead demons "The demons don't have a chance against them, don't worry" she whispered, loud enough so I could hear. Cassie gave me the signal to shoot the demons and we both shoot them. We got out of cover and walked across the area and saw Kenshi and Johnny fighting against more demons, and then help a hurt soldier. We went over to them and regrouped. "Where does the demons come from?" I asked. "We talk about it at the base, let's get these wounded soldiers in the helicopter" Johnny said calling for a helicopter. We carried the soldiers in and arrived at the base.

*Arriving at the base*
Nurses came rushing to get the wounded soldiers. We others got out of the helicopter, and Johnny brought us to the meeting room. All of us was there, Jax, Jacqui, Kung Jin, Cassie, Kenshi and Sonya plus some soldiers. Johnny and Sonya were the ones talking. "What we saw today was demons from the Netherealm. Which Shinnok sent" Johnny said then continued "we know that he wants power. We have to stop him. Shinnok is dangerous and powerful, but we have stopped him before and we can do it again. But I guess this time he is more stronger." He opened a map. "You have stopped him before?" Cassie asked. "Yes, me, Raiden, Kenshi and Sonya fought him, and we imprisoned him in his amulet, but now it seems like he has escaped." Johnny said and looked down at the map on the wall. "Since I, Sonya and Kenshi have fought Shinnok, we know who is on his side, and some of them are in Outworld. We going to send you Nova, Cassie, Jacqui there." He looked at all the others in the room, "You can now leave the room." Sonya looked at us. "They know us, and how we fight, that's why we send you. But first you got to have a training exercise with grandmaster Sub-zero. The ones you're going to meet in the Outworld are going to be a challenge" she said. "You're leaving tomorrow morning." Johnny added on.
