Nae-un sat in the corner of the room thinking to herself, trying to come up with an escape plan.
// Your hands are free you could just attack him with a hex and make a run for it.....No that won't work, you don't know any hexes strong enough for you to have a chance. Plus you'd have to summon the glyph, which takes time and he would be able to see it happening. By the time you were ready to hex him he'd have had the chance to shoot you four times at least. Even if you did manage to hex him there are six others who probably have guns too. And on top of all that you don't even know where you are, how will you know where to go to get help? //
She sighed quietly, it was hopeless there didn't seem to be any way of escaping. She decided to simply do what they wanted, until an opportunity came for her to get away. She gave up planning an escape and started to think about Hana, her brothers, her parents and her grandparents. Hana was probably worried when Nae-un didn't show up at the practice room like she said she would. Nae-un guessed that Hana would probably call the police after she was missing for about a day. The thought of how worried her parents and brothers would be when they heard that she was missing, made Nae-un's throat go tight. She was still determined not to cry in front of one of her captors so she started to read one of the books she had been carrying in her backpack to distract herself from the overwhelming situation she was in.
She sat there for hours keeping quiet and holding in everything she was feeling. Night soon came and Hoseok tied her hands behind her back before leaving to go to bed. Once he had left Nae-un curled herself into a ball on her makeshift bed and started to cry. She muffled her sobbing with her jacket, afraid of waking any of them up and getting beaten up for it. The room was cold and it was impossible to get comfortable with her hands tied behind her back, she cried to herself until she finally fell into a restless sleep.
She woke up early the next day out of habit, she had no way of telling the time but she guessed it was about 7:00am. If it had been a normal Sunday, she would have been getting ready to go to work. But the situation Nae-un was in was anything BUT normal. She sat up and tried to stretch her sore and stiff arms but with little success since they were still tied behind her back. She sat quietly, waiting for someone to come. After about two and a half hours two of them came in, the guy who had brought her here and the tall one who Hoseok had called boss. She glared at them both but said nothing.
"Geez kid, you look like you're trying to set us on fire with your mind" Nae-un wanted to give him a sarcastic response like "I'm soo sorry. I have this terribly rude habit of not wishing good fortune on the people who were nice enough to KIDNAP me". But she held her tongue, knowing it would just cause problems for her. Besides she had a feeling that she wouldn't have had the nerve to say it even if she didn't think they would beat her up.
"Do you know how to track someone?" He said after a moment of silence. Nae-un didn't know how to track someone but his words from the day before rang in her head "if you turn out to be more trouble than you're worth, We'll kill you" she wracked her brain trying to remember the stories her grandmother told her about her time working as a detective. Nae-un vaguely remembered a glyph that her grandmother told her could be used to track someone. She was almost certain it was in one of the books she had with her, if she could get them to give her time to translate the books she would be able to find the glyph and hopefully keep them from killing her.
"I think I have something that could work.....but the books I have are written in different languages. I'll need time to translate them before I can do anything" "How long do you need?" Nae-un looked at her bulging backpack. Most of those books were the size of a dictionary. She mentally groaned at the thought of having to translate all of them, by herself. "I'll need at least 3 weeks since I'll have to translate them manually" he nodded, it seemed like he was patient enough to wait "Oh and I'll need paper and something to write with" she added. He left the room and shortly came back with a refill pad and some pens. He set them down on the desk and said "better get started, it looks like you've got a lot to get done" before he left again.
Nae-un was left with the other the one who had brought her there in the first place. He came behind her to free her hands "can you actually do that?" Nae-un looked at him blankly "set people on fire with your mind. Well can you?" Nae-un wished she could do something like that.
1.it would make escaping easier
2. it would be a lot less time consuming. (Dergonian Glyphics has the drawback of being very obvious and spells can take nearly half an hour to cast for someone who is inexperienced)
Once her hands were free she put all her books in a pile on the desk and started to work. She started by reading each book and trying to figure out which one was most likely to have the glyph she was looking for. Feeling very aware of the limited time she had she did her best to stay focused and work quickly. However her guard seemed to be feeling rather talkative which wasn't exactly helpful. She ignored him all morning, not even looking up from her book.
By the afternoon Taehyung was getting fed up with being ignored by Nae-un. "Hey, you know I could kill you right? Maybe you should bear that in mind when you decide to ignore me" Nae-un stopped writing and thought about that for a moment. He wasn't wrong, he could easily kill her but it didn't seem likely that he would do it over something like being ignored. "I'm not particularly worried about that at the moment" she said with a monotone voice and went back to work. "And why's that?" "Because you don't have anything to gain from killing me right now. I'm doing work for you guys so you can find someone. If you kill me now you'd have to find someone else to do the job. Plus the rest of your gang would probably be pretty pissed with you AND you'd have a dead body to take care of. It just seems like a lot of trouble for nothing" Nae-un said as she continued to work. Taehyung stared at her for a moment. He was surprised by her levelheaded logical way of thinking. She didn't seem to have had any reaction to hearing Namjoon's threat either. If he hadn't heard her crying the night before he would have thought that she didn't care that this happened to her.
