Summary

Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Spirit. The five elements that are all supposed to balance and coincide with each other and each represented by a Fae group. The council heads, each with a member of their own royalty, unanimously decided to cast out the Spirit Fae due to fear, and thus created the longest standing war among their people since the beginning of their existence.

Amarisse. A Water Fae who is preparing to take her father's place on the council. She's always been rather sheltered and has zero experience when it comes to love since she's been arranged to be married to Heath since she was born. She's never even seen a human, let alone a Spirit Fae. That is, until she stumbles upon a dark-haired beauty while sketching by the lake.

Drake. A Spirit Fae who wants nothing but to see the council burn, and even joined the rebel Void group with his best friend to ensure it will by his own hands. His interactions with the other elemental Faes have been minimal and haven't given him any reason to believe anything positive about his enemies. That is, until he comes across a Water Fae while writing his music.

Two people forbidden to be together with their families at war. One undeniable connection that might be worth the risk. What are they willing to sacrifice for their happiness?

Author's Note

Hello and welcome to Spiritual Deficiency!

Thank you so much for stumbling upon our story and I hope you all enjoy it! I'm going to address a few points provided below, and hopefully we won't have to answer these questions later again as I cover everything I can think of here:

1) This is a joint-project between @Faith__Hope__Love and I! The chapters will switch back and forth between the points of view of our characters, which will be labeled by their names. To make it even simpler: Hope will be writing all the odd chapters, and I will have all the even chapters. Seems simple enough! For the dialogues in each of our chapters, we also TRIED (key word tried) to both be present to keep our characters as genuine to ourselves as we can, but obviously there will be some hiccups as no one is perfect!

2) We're going to try our best to keep a regular schedule for updates, but we are both full-time students with jobs among other things, so it will be difficult to always be on the same page as each other, so please be patient! <3

3) This book is UNEDITED, meaning you will most likely come across mistakes here and there. You can either ignore them or politely point them out so that we can fix them later down the line, please don't attack either of us for these mistakes.

4) Both of our writing styles are going to be a tad different, as I typically go the descriptive slow-burn route of stories, and Hope loves more dialogue than anything. We did our best to mix these styles together to give you a story neither of us would have ever DREAMED to write. I hope you enjoy it!

5) YES THIS WILL BE CHEESY!! I don't know how to stress this enough, Hope and I are a sucker for cheesy romances. So that is EXACTLY what we're going to give to you. We want you to be able to smile and enjoy yourselves (maybe even tear up during their struggles you'll have to witness firsthand).

6) Please don't steal any of our work, and let us know if you see it appear anywhere else. We worked hard on our story!

7) PLEASE ENJOY!! Vote and comment, give us feedback! We love to hear opinions!
