Chapter 14 Part 1

Has anyone ever had that feeling when you hear something that you weren't supposed to hear and suddenly its like time stops?

Like your body and mind stop, hearing nothing but those words replaying over and over again until you feel numb.

Mickaela couldn't EVER unhear those words come from somone that she trusted to protect her and be their for her. Someone she looked up too and admired them for how well they raised her.

Was she just an idiot? Deep down inside she always felt like she didn't belong with her family. People always told her she looked too "asian" for her 'mom' to be her mom, but she was always there to defend Mickaela.

She always told her that shewas hers biologically. She told her this all of the time to the point where Mickaela had no choice but to believe it herself.

But now Mickaela knows the truth.

"Mickaela?" Her mind started to come back together and she looked up at the person that spoke to her.

It was Jhope.

"Mickaela?" He asked again. She tried to speak, but she couldn't get anything out. It was like she was mute. Just then Jhope pulled Mickaela into a hug and started shushing in her ear. "Don't speak, just let me hug you."

They stood their for who knows how long. Hugging each other. Of course Mickaela was crying, but they were silent cries. She had bo idea what was wrong with her, but she was mute. She couldn't even force herself to talk. She was just mute.

"Im sorry, my daughter. My precious everything." Her 'mother' said as she was getting up and walking closer to her and Jhope.

Before she reached them, Jhope turned his back towards her so that she couldnt get to Mickaela.

"No." He said in a stern voice. "You can't just drop a bomb like that and expect her to even speak to you right now." Jhope was trying so hard not to cry himself. He was choking back on the tears. This must also be hard for him as well.

To lose something that he and his parents loved. Their beloved youngest daughter was snatched away from them. Especially Jhope being old enough to remember it.

Thats heartbreaking.

For Mickaela

For his older sister,

For his parents,

And especially Jhope.

Mickaela started thinking that meet Jhope was for a reason. Just like everything happens for a reason.

All those dreams she had. All those times her mom made Mickaela take extra english classes. Why was Mickaela so blind to it?

Finally after a few more minutes of the room being silent, her 'mother' left.

Joonie came over to Mickaela and tried to get her to talk, but she couldn't. She just shook her head and Joonie hugged her. Nothing more for anyone to do, but hug her.

How could someone do that to her? Someone she trusted. How could someone do that to another family? Jhope's family.

"Hey, Um you." Jhope said to Mickaela's friend. He really didn't know her name.

"My names Joonie." She said. Jhope nodded his head and then turned to Namjoon.

"Have Joonie take Mickaela to her room and stay with her." Jhope said. He wasn't really fluent in English, but he didn't know if Joonie knew Korean.

Namjoon turned to Joonie and repeated what Jhope said. He felt bad he didn't know her name so he didn't want to be even more awkward with her.

"Mickaela come on." Joonie said. She took her hand and walked her away from Jhope. All he could do was stand there and watch Mickaela leave as his heart was breaking into a million tiny pieces.

She didnt deserve this.

Jhope turned to the rest of his group and sighed deepily.

"What's on your mind?" Jin asked him as they all sat down at the dining room table.

"Lots of things. Like my heart breaks for Mickaela, but I can't help but feel happy that I now know the truth." Jhope said. He gave them all a weak smile, and they gave him one back.

"Hyung this doesn't mean anything." Jungkook said quietly.

Jhope snapped his head towards Jungkook and furrowed his eyebrows. "What doesn't?"

"Yeah, I know we just found out what her mom did when she was younger, but that doesn't mean that she's your sister." Taehyung finished for him.

Jhope shook his head, denying everything Taehyung and Jungkook were trying to say.

"Tae!" Namjoon said across the table.

"What? It's true. Im not saying anything rude, im just saying."

"I truly believe she's my sister. There's so much that ties us to being siblings that if we asked the whole world they'd know." Jhope said. He managed to get Taehyung and Jungkook to agree with him and the others.

"I just can't get over why this happened." Jhope dropped his head.

Suga put his hand on his shoulder and moved it up and down. "I think she was hurting, and all of that hurt made her do something indescribable."

"Then why is she out there running free? Do you know how hurt my parents were? Every dream I had of her, I thought were just actual dreams, but turns out they were real. Everytime I mentioned my dreams my mom and dad would start crying. It got so bad that I just stopped telling them my dreams."

"We're so sorry hyung. We have no idea how you feel." Jimin added. "We'll never understand how you feel."

"It's fine." Jhope said while choking back the tears that were trying to fall again.

Just then Joonie came running down the stairs, freaking out. All of them turned to look at her.

"I can't get her to talk!" She yelled. "She won't talk to me or anybody."

Namjoon stood up from his chair and ran over to Joonie. He whispered something in her ear and they had a conversation back and forth until she ran over to Jhope.

"Please help me talk to Mickaela. She might talk if your there." She begged.

Jhope really couldn't say no, so he followed Joonie to Mickaela's room. Once they got there he saw her laying down on her bed in a fetal position with her hugging the pillow.

Jhope walked closer to her bed and sat down at the edge of it. "Mickaela?" He said. She looked at him and blinked. "Please say something."

She blinked.

"I know this is hard for you, but it's hard for me too. Please talk to me."

She blinked.

Jhope sighed deeply. "Please."

She blinked again.

There's no use in trying to get her to talk now. She doesn't want too.

It's not that she doesn't want to talk,

She can't.

I never really identified if the characters ( besides BTS ) were asian or not. So whatever you want to think they're then that's what they are to YOU.

( Don't forget they can be Korean-Americans or Chinese- Americans )
