It was Monday, and I never spoke or saw Derek once.
Me, Conner, and Alexa were all walking to school, they were by my side incase of Derek. "Guys I appreciate it, but do you really think this is necessary?" I asked. They were apparently trying to "protect" me from Derek.
"Sky trust me on this, I was best friends with this guy. He'll try to communicate with you," said Conner.
And just as predicted, we were interrupted by the scumbag himself. "What do you want Derek?" Alexa glared at him.
"I just want to talk to her."
"There's no way in hell were letting you talk to her," Conner said.
"I want to explain myself and apologize for my inappropriate behavior the other night."
"There's no excuse for what you did, its not like this was the first time you've pulled off something like this," it was my time to say something.
"Wait what?! He's hurt you before?!" Suddenly Conner punched him smack in the jaw. "No you did not you cunt!" Derek attempted to punch him back, but Conner blocked it in a swift.
Conner was one of the most ripped guys in the school. So was Derek but not as much. People usually tried to avoid fights with him.
Everybody was completely silent and watching the scene before them. I mean can you blame them?! We were in the middle of the hallway where all the lockers were.
"Don't ever go near her again!" He warned.
"She's my girlfriend, remember."
"Not anymore. And that excuse doesn't mean shit." "You know how many other girls I could get instead of your trashy whore ass?!" He had gritted teeth.
"Then why are you still here?!" Alexa exclaimed. "Just stay away from her."
She grabbed me and Conner by the arms, and pulled us away, before Conner could get in trouble.
"You didn't have to do that for me Conner."
"Are you kidding me?! That asshole had it coming. What makes you think I would let that dick head treat my best friend like that?!"
"Thank you guys. I'm lucky to have you people in my life." I grabbed them into a group hug.
Even though I was in love with his girlfriend, I would never to that to him.
Some people are not worth letting go.
And that's what I'm going to attempt to do with Alexa.
At least I thought I could...
