Do you ever hate a person so much that any time someone does something relatively similar to what they would do, you get this awful chill down your spine? As if Satan tapped on your shoulder, whispering things about the worst of Hell in your ear. What if the person that you hated so much was yourself?
Everyone always says, “Love yourself. There is nobody else like you.”
How am I supposed to love myself when there is a person exactly like me, a human being of the same genetic makeup, but the monster inside of me ate them? Death is powerful. Not only does it end lives -- obviously -- but it ruins others. I ruined my own life. Every day, I wake up knowing my family didn’t get to live to their full potential because of me. I hate myself.
The only thing worse than death is hanging onto the edge of it. The cliff is rocky and jagged, so much that you bleed out any feeling you’ve ever had. You balance yourself there for a while, debating; do you hang in there a little while longer until someone notices and saves you, or do you fall down into the unknown? Why live when you’re not alive? Why try when you never succeed?
You have to hang in there. You have to hold on because what is down there is not up here. You have to use the muscle you have – even if you don’t think you have it – and use it to pull yourself to the top of the cliff; what is up there is a new pair of eyes, new feelings. You have to try again because at some point, you will succeed, and I will tell you personally, it is the best feeling in the world.
