Sierra:
Sierra is that gossipy teenage girl you see in movies. She has strawberry blonde hair to her shoulders and eyes greener than grasshoppers, cat’s eyes. We call her Misty, after the soda, Sierra Mist. She doesn’t like SiSi.
She is bold, embarrassing, pretty much the older sister you’ve always had to keep you standing, but you never wanted. She just… doesn’t have a filter, I guess you could say. She knows what buttons to push, and Diana struggles by trying to keep her away from them. I met Misty in French, the class she never cared about, due to the failing grade she had. “I speak English,” she would tell the teacher. “I will never use French in my life.” When the teacher gave scenarios about when she might need them, Sierra always protested. “I plan to stay in the US,” she would retort, or, “French people don’t work at the McDonalds in town, so I’m good.” She is very sassy.
When I brought home a boy, once, she told him things about me that I never would’ve said. She acted like an overly proud mother, trying to embarrass her daughter by targeting her first boyfriend. It wasn't until after he left that I explained to her that he was my lab partner in my science class. He didn’t talk to me after that day. It made for a very awkward class presentation.
This is also the girl who is such an extrovert, she always needs to have somebody there. At first, I wasn’t sure if she was just lonely, but damn does that girl have a lot of friends. My theory is she just gets bored too easily. “Friends keep me skinny,” she always says, “When I have friends around, I don’t eat as much as I usually would.”
That’s Sierra logic for you.
