The thief had stolen a car and some money. It was very simple to catch him. He was an amateur. I just had to make a web in the road, and he drove right into it.

I dropped myself onto the car roof. The thief was struggling to open the door.

"Need some help with that?" I asked. I opened the door and pulled him out. He squirmed in my arms, and I handed him over to the cops. They handcuffed him and shoved him into the backseat of their car.

"Thanks, Spider-Man," an officer said. "Welcome back."

"My pleasure," I replied. I removed the webs from the stolen car, then lifted it up, facing it the other direction so it could be driven away by its owner. I picked up a shopping bag full of money out of the passenger seat and handed it back to the robbed store owner.

I glanced back up to Aunt May, who was leaning over the edge of the roof, smiling. Then her foot slipped, and she was falling. I heard her scream.

I leaped into the air, shooting my webs and swinging around so I could reach her. I swung toward her, then caught her.

"Maybe I shouldn't put you on the roof next time," I said.

"Probably not," Aunt May replied, giving a sigh of relief.

---

"You are so great at what you do," Aunt May said when we returned home.

"Thanks. I hoped so," I answered.

"And, until now, I've missed it. You know, Peter, the city really does need you. They sure do know how to get into trouble."

"They have a knack for that."

"And you have a knack for getting them out of it."

"Thanks."

"No. Thank YOU."

"You're welcome."

---

I returned home a couple of days later after breaking up a serious fight that included weapons. I was scratched and bruised when I made it back, but I was okay.

"Peter! Are you alright?" Aunt May rushed up to me, examining my injuries.

"Relax, Aunt May. I've been shot before," I pushed her away.

"Well I'm a nurse now and you need stitches!"

"I'll need nothing by tomorrow. Calm down."

"At least clean them up a little better."

"Fine."

I cleaned my cuts and applied ointment to them, but only to please Aunt May. I still refused stitches. They hurt a little, but I ignored the pain.

My bruises had disappeared in a few hours, and my cuts were already healing. By the time I woke up the next morning, they were completely gone.

"See?" I told Aunt May. She gave me an annoyed look.

"You've definitely been bitten by something. Otherwise I'd be worried that you weren't human, because healing that fast is not normal," she said.

"I'm pretty sure I'm no longer considered human," I said. "Well, at least not fully human."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I meant," she waved her hand in the air. I laughed. "I'm actually kinda jealous."

"Well, if I find another radioactive spider, I'll make sure it bites you," I patted her left shoulder, and she tilted her head.

"I'm not sure I'd want it to."

"It's actually pretty fun...but it takes a lot of responsibility."

"I know. You are very responsible." I smiled.

"I'm glad you think so."
