CHAPTER SEVEN: DETENTION

Days passed and Wei ying finds his classes quite boring but still attends them fearing jiang cheng might tell his parents also he doesn't want to disappoint his Senior Xichen. But one particular day. The boredom was unbearable to the point that he falls asleep and worse it was during Lan Qiren's class irritated was an understatement the old man was furious. He asked Wei ying questions regarding the lesson and Wei ying was able to answer it correctly much to Lan qiren's astonishment and utter annoyance the professor felt like he was being taken for granted. "Wei Wuxian do you find my class that boring for you to fall asleep?" "nope not really sir I just feel like sleeping thats all. But yeah I got your lectures noted so yeah." wei ying said smilling. lan Qiren saw red and slammed his hand over his desk "get out,!! You will have detention for a full week at the university library if you miss one day anothwr week will be added. lan Wangji you will supervise him and make sure he does what is told understood?" Lan Qiren looked at Lan zhan who simply nodded. jiang cheng facepalmed its roughly been three months. And this guy has gotten himself into so much trouble. He sighed as Wei Ying stood up and left the classroom to go outside as ordered by the headmaster. After class Lan Wangji went over to see his brother he felt utterly annoyed about the task given by his uncle.Lan Xichen instantly noticed his foul mood. "let me guess wangji this is about Wei Wuxian again isn't it?" "he got detention for a week. I was assigned to watch over him." Lan wangji answered with a blank expression on his face or at least thats what he tried to show. lan Xichen looked at his brother's conflicted expression and sighed. " you seem really irritated Wanji. Is there any
specific reason?" "no" "then why are you getting so worked up about weik Wuxian?" "that guy.. Is shameless he has pissed the headmaster so much he fell asleep during class.when headmaster asked questions baout his lectures he was able to answer it." "ohh pretty impressive. So our new student is pretty smart huh?" "and irresponsible uncle qiren looked like he wanted to kill someone. That Wei ying is shameless" Lsn Xichen looked at his brother for a moment to think. "lan Zhan if it pisses you so much I'll watch iver his detention for you." Lan Xichen said calmly. Lan Wangji looked at his brother and scowled. lan Xichen was startled never has Wangji scowled at him. "no,you already have. A lot of things to do as it is. I'll watch over his detention. Its just a week"
"you sure? If you want I......." "I'll handle it brother.just focus on the council Wei Wuxian is mine" Lan Wangji answered sharply Xichen was caught off guard hearing his brother's words. Its pretty unusual for him to be this worked up especially about someone. He smiled at Wanji and tapped him on his shoulder. "let's have some tea before you head over to the library ok?"

Wei ying was walkimg around the school humming _oftly he wanted to practice for a bit so he headed towards the archery club. He was about to go in when he heard it.barking and panting noises. He instantly froze as he saw fairy approaching him. He wanted to scream but the people inside the club might get angry so he decided to stay still as expected Jin Ling walked up to him frowning "What are you doing here? Are you following me?" "no. I came here first why would I follow you." "why are are you even in this area this club is strictly for archery club members only. So go away!." "I know that. i came here to practice " Wei ying said grinning. " you're joking right?" "nope" Jin ling had a big scowl on his face. "how? Why are you in the archery team? Who allowed you to sign up ?" "Lan Wangji said I could join I love archery so why not. So I'm guessing you are a member as well right?" "hmph! Obviously. Now move aside I need to practice. Jin ling said shoving Wei ying and going inside. Wei ying followed and he immediately saw Wen Ning in the far corner fixing his bow. He instantly was by his side startling the poor guy. " hey Wen Ning how's practice?" "Wen Ning looked at him and then down at his bow. " I didn't practice today." "but why? Did something hapoen is your bow broken?" "No. The senior members are here and they said the need the area to practice so they said I should. Move aside." Wen ning stuttered. Wei ying could clearly see the disappointment in his voice he looked around and saw Jin ling and a group of older students and one of the being Jin Zixuan. " so that guy is here huh?" "who?" "that jerk Jin Zixuan he suddenly interrupted my conversation with Nie Huasang during class saying things about the Lan brothers." "Wen ning looked horrified seeing Wei Ying's darkened expression. "he did that?" "yeah. So it turns out that Jin ling is his brother poor kid." "they are very skilled at archery their family comes from a long line of archery practitioners as what I've heard."

You're archery skill is amazing you can beat them I'm sure of it.,"
"please don't say that Wei Wuxian. " "but its true who cares about them. Prove how strong you are you can do it" he said patting wen ning on his back who instantly blushed. The two continued to talk when Wen ning suddenly froze feeling a dark aura behind them. He turned to see Lan wangji standing infront of them with a blank face. Wei ying grinned seeing the cold faced guy in front of them. "hey Lan zhan what's up? Come to practice? " " no." "then why are you here?" "its your time for detention let's go." Wei ying paled and stoid up but before leaving he turned to face Wen Ning hugging him "I'll see you later Wen Ning let's hang out some more okay?" Wen ning blushed and gave him a small smile and Wei ying smiked back at him.Lan zhan silently watched the interaction and felt a surge of annoyance seeing how Wei Ying reacts and smiles around the other guy. He walked ahead of him without saying a word

They arrive at the library and Lan wangji sits himself at the far end table. Taking out his books he began to study. He tried hard not to recall the interaction between Wei ying and Wen ning . He sighed feeling the annoyance creep into himself again Wei ying looked at him a bit concerned "Lan Zhan is everything okay? you look like you ate something sour," "just do your writings Wei ying." he said not looking at him.
