CHAPTER FIFTEEN : SPARKS FLY INNER TURMOIL

The competition was about to begin Wei ying and his team were doing their preparations. Wen ning was still shaking the poor kid felt the pressure on him.Wei ying approached him and tapped his shoulder.,"Wen Ning you ok? " "yeah I'm fine just nervous." "Nah no need to be scared it's just Wen chao you can beat him trust me. If not I'm gonna make sure to beat him for you okay. So relax."Wei ying said giving him a brotherly hug. Wen Ning hugged back. Being this close to Wei Ying made him feel warm. He stilled feeling a dark presence behind them his eyes caught Lan Wangji passing by glaring daggers at him. He quickly lets go of Wei ying who simply laughed. " hello Wei ying how are you? Ready for the competition?" "Senior Xichen, I'm okay and yeah we are ready. Wen ning will surely win. " "aren't you competing?" "I will be. But we decided Wen ning will go up against That Wen guy. He's been making fun of my friend and I want wen ning to teach him a lesson." Wei ying said proudly putting his hand on Wen Ning's shoulder Lan Xichen quietly observed his brother's reaction and was not surprised to see a scowl forming in his face.
Lan Xichen. Decided to have a little fun and approached Wei ying. "Show me the result of your practice Wei ying draw your bow" he said stepping a little closer Wei Ying being clueless follows and takes hold of his bow and grabs an arrow. Xichen smiled and had his hand placed on Wei ying's back. He made sure that the angle can be seen by his brother' "you need to fix your stance Wei ying. Okay there you go. Now focus on your aim." he said placing his hand to guide Wei ying in positioning the arrow he whispers to him to shoot with his hand on Wei Ying's back. He glances at Lan Wangji who had a very dark look on his face. Wei Ying felt the dark aura and missed his aim. "Nice try A Xian." Lan Xichen said making sure to emphasize his name and for wangji to hear it. He was quite amused seeing the faces his brother is making. "Now focus okay make sure to direct your eyes on your target right Lan zhan?" he said smiling. Wei ying just smiled as he continued to practice unaware of a set of golden eyes looking at him. Wen Ning was quietly observing and felt a chill when Lan wangji looked at him. He whimpered and hid behind Wei ying. " hey what's wrong Wen ning?" "I think Lan Wangji is mad at me." "why would he be mad at you?" "I don't know. He keeps looking at me like he wants to kill me or something" "hahaha nah don't mind Lan Zhan he's just being his normal self" Wei ying said glancing at Lan zhan and smiling at him. Lan zhan meeting gazes with Wei Ying instantly looks away.

The archery competition commences with the members of the club competing against each other. True to his word Wei Wuxian proved to everyone that Wen Ning was very skilled in archery and surprisingly Jin ling and Himself didn't both fall behind. Lan Wangji was determined to beat everyone including Wen Ning he couldn't forget how casually he was acting towards Wei Ying. He was deep in his thoughts when Lan Xichen approached him. "Wangji you seem to be extra focused today and this is only the school qualifiers. " "mnn" "Well I can't blame you. We have a lot of talented members there's Jin ling and that kid Wei Ying is looking after. He seems to like him a lot. He always talks about wen Ning. " Lan Xichen said. Trying to get a reaction. Lan wangji furrowed his eyebrows trying to keep his cool if he didn't know his brother he would say he was doing it on purpose. "i just want to win " "over Wei ying?" "yes........what?" Lan Xichen laughed seeing his brother's cheeks turn pink. "you are an honest person Lan zhan but you should be more honest to yourself and your feelings

The competition ended with Lan wangji getting first place next is Wei ying then Wen Ning in third.
"you were amazing Wen Ning I told you so. " Wei Ying said happily hugging his friend. "but you got second." "but you beat chao chao so yeah you were awesome. Lets grab some drinks to celebrate." "but are we allowed to?" "leave it to me" Wei yong said grinning
