CHAPTER NINE : UNFORSEEN EVENTS

Authir's note : I do not own Mo Dao Zu Shi.  This chapter contains scenes filled with  the Lan brothers.Xichen consoling Lan Zhan  the latter still haunted by the library incident and Wei ying being his happy self hahahha enjoy. :)

Lan Wangji sighed for the third time.it has been an hour since Wei Ying left the library and he was still sitting there holding the photo. He was so annoyed by what Wei ying did but he couldn't help but think he did something wrong. The way Wei Ying backed away and ran off was  proof of it. Deep in his thoughts he did not notice his brother approach him.  Lan wangji  what's wrong, you seem troubled"   " Lan Xichen asked sitting in front of him  he looked at his brother who wqs showing concern in his face.    "nothing brother. I'm almost done here  I was just about to go out."     " I ran into Wei Wuxian on my way here. He looked a bit..... Off.  Did something happen during detention wamgji?"      " Lan Xichen looked him in the eye asking for answers Lan Wamji sighed   so Wei Ying  did feel bad.    "What happened Wangji, I asked him and he just said you were here did you two fight?"     " no."    "then why?  Wei Wuxian looked so down he was not his usual self.  Its like he was hurt or something. "      "nothing happened Xichen .its kinda late let's go now." Lan zhan said standing up Xichen could only stare at his brother's retreating form.

"so I heard you got detention  what happened Wei ying?   "iiang chen asked. While having dinner..  Wei ying simply nodded and continued eating making Jiang cheng tilt his head im concfusion he sensed something was off.   "Wei Wuxian  did you do something during detention?  Did something happen why didn't you tell me?"     "it was nothing jiang cheng ha ha no big deal   so don't worry about it. " Wei Ying answered trying to focus on eating. He  could still hear. lan wangji shouting at him asking him to leave. The guy was furious he sighed again.   People have always disliked him he wqs loud obnoxiouss and utterly mischievous but he had no ill intentions towards anyone. So seeing Lan wangji that mad made him feel bad.    He stood up. And walked towards the door.  "where are  you going Wei Ying? "     "just gonna. Get some fresh air maybe shoot some arrows  ha ha "   "are you crazy?  It,'s way past practice hours you can't just barge in like. That."    "relax Jiang cheng I'm not gonna get into trouble okay  see you later. Get some beauty sleep your forehead wrinkles are showing"    Wei ying said laughing as he stepped out.  jiang cheng sighed and faced the mirror checking out his reflection "who's fault does he think he is stupid Wei ying "

Wei ying was walking around the campus trying to calm his mind down he can't stop thinking about Lan Wangji the latter seemed to hate him so much. He arrived in front of the archery facility and climbed the fence to get in. He grabbed  a set of bow and arrows and started to warm up he began to shoot eyes focused on the target.  "Lan zhan that jerk, why does he hate me so much. Why can't he be a normal person and smile  it would make him less scary."    "because he has always been like that since we were young"  Wei Ying was startled and missed his shot but was able to hit a good aim  standing in front of him was Lan  Xichen.   "Senior Xichen I....... Uhhhh I'm sorry. For barging in without permission"   "he said bowing his head in shame. xichen smiled at him and tapped his shoulder. "it's alright Wei Ying. You're a member of the archery club so you can come here."    "but its beyond prasctice hours and......."     "I'm still here aren't I,?   So  don't worry.  I'm guessing you're here to clear your mind of things? "     "I guess. How about you Senior Xichen you're a member of the archery team as well but I rarely see you practice."      "I have a lot of things to do the council work  studying  and such but try to squeeze in time to practice. It would be a shame if the team captain is dissed by his juniors right? "   "that's impossible I'm sure you're going to win the tournament. "    "well let's see. We have a lot of amazing members there's jin ling  then you. "    "and Wen ning. That kid is amazing just need to deal with his nerves. I saw him practicing once he has good aim."  Wei ying answered  Xichen smiled at him and he felt his face feel warm again. Talking to Xichen calms him down"     "Lan zhan is also a member of the team he usually practices alone  he prefers doing it alone to maintain focus you see. Its always been like that. "    "hey Senior Xichen...... Does......does Lan zhan hate being around people?"      " not really. He just prefers being alone  he feels more comfortable that way. Did something happen during detention??"    "I uhhh... I may have teased him a bit and  he got angry at me haha it was my fault. I just wanted to get a reaction from him he's always so cold and stiff he doesn't smile not like you"      "Lan Zhan has always been like that Wei Ying.since we were kids.  He always chooses to be in a corner alone studying."    " but why?  Its lonely having no friends. i couldn't even stand a day. Being by myself thats why I pester jiang cheng.   Haha"    "do you want. To be friends with Lan zhan Wei ying?"    "but he hates me Senior Xichen. "Wei ying said sadly. lan Xichen pats his head in a soothing manner "    " let him be for now. He will be fine in a few days. If it helps you're the first person he accompanied outside of the classroom.I find it surprising to be honest.  Who knows Wei Ying he mighy even smile at you."   "naaah impossible. Its like saying Jiang cheng will get a girlfriend senior Xichen."     "Wei Ying said laughing the two continued to talk not knowing a certain someone is watching them with hurtful look on his face.
