CHAPTER TEN: CAMP CHAOS

Author's note I do not own Mo Dao Zi Shi hehe this chapter includes the scene with Wei ying almost drowning  haha Lan zhan scared shitless and Xichen  discovering his little secret

"hey Wei Wuxian have you heard? The school is having an outdoor camp  in a few days. Nie Huasiang excitedly approached him he was in the courtyard studying with Jiang cheng.  " really? Well that sounds. Exciting. But what for? I thought this school wants the students to focus on their academics so why hold a camp in the midst of the semester. Jianh Cheng cuts in a bit puzzled.  "i bet its gonna be fun. It well be held by the beach from what I heard and is funded by the council."   "ohhh  sounds like a plan right Jiang cheng?  We're going right?"     " why do I have a bad feeling about this."   "don't be a party pooper  it'll be fun."    "he's right Jiang cheng.its rare that the school jas events like this so please join us "   the three turned to see Lan Xichen approach them with Lan Wangji trailimg behind him Wei ying's face lit up seeing Xichen. "Senior Xichen good morning.  So this is supported by the council?"  " yes  we know the students here are working hard in their studies so this is just a little something for everyone. you will be going right Wei ying?"    Xichen said  giving emphasis in saying Wei ying's birth name.as expected  he got the reaction he wanted from his brother
.  "of course  I'll come  if its okay.,"   "of course the entire archery team is invited. So that includes you Jiang cheng. "   "so that means Wen Ning will be there as well?? Thats great. Thank you for the invitation Senior Xichen  we look forward to it."  Wei ying said with a wide smile on his face.  The two brothers left  and Wei ying chattered excitedly. Jiang cheng can only sigh as he knew his friend wouldn't stop blabbering.

Xichen and his brother have returned to the council room to continue their duties the older one observing his brother's action. "Lan Zhan is something wrong? "     " why did you invite them?"   "what do you mean why, they are part of the team Lan zhan its only polite that as the team captain I personally invite them and besides .......... I'm sure you wanted Wei ying to come along right?"   Xichen said with a knowing smile on his face Lan zhan turned away frowning  his brother seemed to be quite comfortable  calling Wei ying by his birth name and worse the other seemed not to mind at all.  "really Lan zhan is everything ok you have been in a sour mood since we got back. What's. Bothering you? "     " nothing I'm okay Xichen."  Lan Xichen sighed

Days passed and the day of the camp finally arrived Wei ying was smiling   as they walked towards the meet up point he was dragging jiang cheng with Nie Huaisang following behind. His eyes finally caught the person he was looking for.  "Wen Ning!!!!  Hey over here!"    he shouted Wen ning saw Wei ying waving at him and he gave a polite bow and slowly approached the group. "hey I'm glad you're here Wen Ning "     "ummmm Senior Xichen asked me to come I really didn't want to. Since.... Well I don't know anyone in this school. "   "hey don't say that. Thats why we're here. We're friends now right. Jiang cheng"    "yeah and you're a member fo the archery too so you should be here."    " why is he even in the archery club anyway? "   "everyone turned to see a tall  guy walked toward them. "this guy doesn't look at him he looks so weak. I doubt he can even pull an arrow from his quiver. : Wen Nicg had his head lowered in shame as the guy and his group laughed at him Wei ying. Felt his blood boil and decided to speak up."    " oh really?  What made you say that have you seen him practice  have you seen him take hold of his bow?  Who atr you anyway?"    "Wen Chao from the Wen family."            
"Okay so what does your family name have to do with  Wen Ning's archery? I bet he can shoot a better aim than you. Are you a member of the club?  How can I don't see you practicing? So waht makes you so sure he's bad at archery?"     "Wei Ying that's enough."    Jiang cheng  tried to pull him away. Wen chao  laughed pointing a finger at Wei ying eyeing him.  " I don't need to I can beat you guys at the tournament. "     "let the arrows decide the fate  stop blabbering okay your voice is hurting my eyes." Wei ying said  covering his ears. Wen chao was agitated and was about to lounge at Wen ying when somebody pulled him back
"thats enough."  Lan wangji....."
"this is a camp we planned for students to have some fun and not pick fights."   "Lan wangji said glaring at Wen chao who glared back.  "hmph!  So now you have the Lan brothers  behind your back huh?  Bunch of losers."    "hey! Take that back!"  Wei ying shouted angrily.  "Wei ying.... Thats enough"   "senior Xichen.... I.... I'm sorry. Its just ... Well I can't let them insult you and lan zhan. And he also made fun of wen ning."    Wei ying said looking down he felt bad that /Xichen saw him in his angered state. Wen ning approached hin and tapped him on his shoulder " its okay Wei Ying.I'm alright thank you for standing up for  me I'm fine now." Wei ying smiled at him and pulled him into a warm hug.Lan wangji watched the exchange and unconsciously clenched his fists this doesn't go unnoticed by Xichen.   "you guys go to your assigned rooms  are you four okay in sharing a room?"   "that would be great thank you Senior Xichen.and uhhh I'm sorry again"   Xichen smiled and gave Wei ying a pat on his head whoch made him blush. " see you around okay no more trouble  okay?"    "yes Senior Xichen."
