Iris was writing down furiously in her parchment as she finally remembered the answer to question 30, b. As she marked the end point, the small yet strong voice of Professor Flitwick made her jump slightly, surprised.

"Five more minutes!"

The girl groaned. She still couldn't remember the name of the bloody creature... She could picture it in her head. The elfish things that lure children so they could eat them... What was it?

"That's it!" She gasped, as she finally remembered, but as soon as she picked up her quill, Professor Flitwick spoke up.

"Quills down, please!" He squeaked. "That means you too, Stebbins! Please remain seated while I collect your parchment! Accio!"

"Oh, bloody hell." She mumbled, as she watched her incomplete test flying over at the small Professor. "Erklings, Iris... How could you have forgotten about them?"

More than a hundred rolls of parchment zoomed into the air and into Professor Flitwick's outstretched arms, knocking him backward off his feet. Several people laughed. A couple of students at the front desks got up, took hold of Professor Flitwick beneath the elbows, and lifted him onto his feet again.

"Thank you... Thank you." Professor Flitwick panted. "Very well, everybody, you're free to go!"

Iris was quick to get up from her seat. She stretched herself and waited for Dorcas and Camilla, who were both at the front of the classroom, to join her so they could all leave.

"How was it?" Camilla asked, as the three girls made their way out of the Great Hall and toward their usual tree.

"I think I was alright." Dorcas shrugged. "Believe I managed an Outstanding, at least."

"Yeah, it wasn't that hard." Iris nodded, as they sat down. "And you, Milla?"

"Defense is my worst subject." She beamed. "I think I failed. If I don't get a T I'll be surprised."

"Thinking on the bright side..." Dorcas said, laying across Camilla's lap, as she looked up at her with a smile. "We just have another practical test and then it's over."

"Oh, thank Merlin!" Camilla sighed.

Dorcas and Iris laughed. The red haired girl leaned against the tree and closed her eyes, enjoying the cold breeze that blew, making her messy strands whip around her face. But she didn't care. She was exhausted. After two whole weeks of heavy tests, all she wanted to do was sleep for at least a month. She wasn't sure how long it had passed, but she zoned out for a while, allowing Dorcas and Camilla to talk without her prying. It was a peaceful moment of her life, but it was cut short by a quite familiar voice.

"All right, Snivellus?" James asked loudly.

Iris' eyes snapped open and she turned around to see what was happening. As expected, there were James and Sirius up in front of Severus, a smirk on each of their faces. Remus and Peter were sat a few feet away from them, looking at the scene evolving in front of them. Iris looked for Lily and saw her sitting by the Lake with Mary and Marlene. She was turned to see it too, but her face was red with anger. Then Iris turned to look at Severus. He dropped his bag, plunged his hand inside his robes, and his wand was halfway into the air when James shouted:

"Expelliarmus!"

Snape's wand flew twelve feet into the air and fell with a little thud in the grass behind him. Sirius let out a bark of laughter.

"Impedimenta!" He said, pointing his wand at Severus, who was knocked off his feet, halfway through a dive toward his own fallen wand. Students all around had turned to watch. Some of them had gotten to their feet and were edging nearer. Some looked apprehensive, others entertained. Snape lay panting on the ground. James and Sirius advanced on him, wands up, James glancing over his shoulder at the girls at the water's edge as he went. Peter was on his feet now, watching hungrily, edging around Remus to get a clearer view.
