"Up, now." Zachariah shook me. I woke up with a start, fear crossing my face when I saw him. "Dinner time. Let's go." He pulled me up by my bicep and walked out of the room, towing me behind. I followed him silently, still half asleep.

"Are they gone?" I asked tentatively.

"Yeah, they left when I got back. Did they do anything else?" He seemed concerned but I doubted that he really was.

"No," I answered as he put a plate with chicken and vegetables in front of me.

"Good," he nodded. "I want you to finish that then drink a glass of water. When you are done you can go back upstairs."

I was awake at this point and tired of how simply he treated this. "Why? Why is food all you care about?"

"Because despite my better judgement my friends are right and you need to be kept fed and healthy so I can collect full reward." He glared at me, I leaned back in my seat and rolled my eyes.

Anger filled, I couldn't submit to abuse. I owed it to myself to fight. "No," I finally said grabbing, the plate and flinging it at him, food scattered everywhere, the plate hit him in the jaw. I jumped off the island chair and darted to the door.

Seeing that the padlock was still broken I pulled the door open and ran outside. Zachariah's voice warned me as I ran, "Eliana, don't! You are going to regret this!" He roared.

My breath caught it my throat, his voiced echoed through me. The cold air hit me like a wall, causing my breath to catch in my throat. Adrenaline coursed through my body as I ran driving me faster. Fear drove me further as I knew I couldn't out run him. I stayed close to the driveway but off of it, following it to the road, just below the tree line.

A silver car was driving along the main road as I neared it, running up to the edge I started waving my arms. "Help!" I screamed, hoping they would stop and get me away from him. The car slowly rolled to a stop and the windows were rolled down, a tall man stepped out of the back.

I stepped toward him, "Sir please, I need to get away from here." I stared at him, closely below his baseball cap. "No," I whispered, turning to run. It was too late, I was too close to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist before I got two steps, his fingers digging into my shriveled torso.

"Let go! Put me down!" I screamed and kicked, fighting him at every angle but it was no use, I was trapped.

Zachariah set/threw me into the car, I went straight to the other side but couldn't open the door thanks to the child lock. "Micha, you can take us back." My eyes darted up to the man in the driver's seat not noticing him before. He seemed small but bulky and stern. He wore an expression of acceptance and annoyance which was unnerving.

Tears streamed my face, Zachariah turned to me but I stubbornly stared forward. "You just made a really stupid decision, you realize that right?" When I didn't acknowledge him he sighed and shook his head. As we reached the house he grabbed my bicep, "Come here." He said gruffly. "You can go, Micha."

"No, stop. You're hurting me!" I said pleadingly.

"Then stop fighting." His harsh voiced scared me and he opened the door pulling me out after him.

"I don't want to go with you!" I pulled back.

"Stop fighting, you are only making it worse for yourself." I felt like he was going to break my arm. Zachariah had to drag me to the door. "Stand up and quit being so stubborn." He jerked me to my feet. My arm felt as though it could melt, his grip was the only thing I could feel.

"I hate you." I mumbled as he pushed me inside. I tried to run to my bedroom but didn't make it half a step before he caught me with a handful of my hair.
