Jiyeon
Saturday night. The night of my first date.
When I say my heart was racing, it was literally about to jump out my chest. I was so scared, I've never done this before, what am I supposed to do?
I took a bus to the restaurant, I only knew of it's existence due to my father talking about it all the time when he's home for once. I waited inside, a worker shown me to my table, I sat there quietly. Dead silent.
Taking in my surroundings, the place was luckily not as fancy as I expected it to be. There were couples, families, friends, all cherishing their moments together at this place. There was even a dance hall, where people moved their body to their own rhythm. This place was very lively.
It wasn't even two minutes into the wait until someone caught my eyes. Jungkook. He walked in, his attire constructed perfectly for the occasion. A deep blue dress shirt and black pants that fit him nicely, along with some black loafers to match.
he spoke to the hostess for a few moments until she pointed him in the direction of my table. He faced my direction, and for some reason, I quickly ducked down, laying my head against the wooden surface of the table. Some part of me hoped he'd just leave so I wouldn't have to face him tonight. I was already regretting coming here.
"Jiyeon?" I heard the sound of shuffling in front of me. I slowly peeked up, my eyes meeting Jungkook's big doe ones. "What are you doing? Are you hiding from me?"
I took one last deep breath of reassurance before sitting up straight in my seat. I mustered up a smile, the bunny returned the gesture, then picked up a menu to scan over his options. I copied his actions, skimming through my choices.
"You seem nervous." Kookie chuckled from behind the menu. "Don't worry, I'm scared too."
Something was different about Jungkook. His whole demeanor has changed. He seemed nicer, more sensitive, kind of like how he was when our friendship had distanced. When he used to have deep feelings for me. I'm not sure if I like this new feeling, I loved the way we interacted before.
Jungkook placed the menu flatly on the table, smiling at the waitress as she approached us. "Hello, my name is Chaeha and I'll be serving you tonight. What can I get you all to drink?"
"Can I just get a water?"
The waitress nodded, writing Jungkook's request before turning to me. "I'll get an iced tea please."
"Sweetened or unsweetened?"
"Sweetened, thank you."
The woman left from sight, I returned my attention back to Jungkook. He leaned back in his seat, connecting our eyes. "Why do I feel like I know her?" He pointed back at the waitress.
"Maybe because she goes to our school." I spoke, looking down at the menu. I could feel Jungkook's eye on me, I couldn't help but look up at him, contecting our eyes once more. "What?"
"You look.. different."
"Different, how?"
His eyes wandered off to the window next to us. Why is he acting so damn weird? "You look beautiful." There was a tint of red at his cheeks that he was quick to cover with the menu. "So what should we order?" He quickly changed the subject to avoid farther embarrassment.
"Oh- uh- okay." I looked own at my menu but I didn't get a chance to look through my options until the buzzing of my phone distracted me. I glance over at my purse, Jungkook peeking in that direction as well.
I wanted to ignore it since I should focus on Jungkook, but the buzzing was consistent. "You should get that, silence your phone when you're done."
