E. 5. "Reid, The Knight In Golden Armour" (1/3)

A month later...

It is a perfect afternoon to have a power training session: pure blue skies, puffy clouds, a calm, cool breeze. That is what two young power players are exactly doing.

"Hah!" Nolan Patrick zooms in his sleek, metallic glider, dodging a whizzing metallic stalk of wheat. "Missed!"

Down below on the grassy hill, Kale Clague thrusts another stalk up high at Nolan with a grunt. "Urgh!"

Nolan flips backward with his glider, the stalk missing him by inches. "You gotta do better than that, Kale Chips!"

Kale spins once and throws his hands out at him.

Instantly, a rain of metallic wheat stalks shoot out, flying straight at Nolan.

"WHOA!!!" Nolan hastily whips out his metallic, orange-tinted throwing stars and frantically thrusts them at the raid of stalks, leaving trails of wispy orange energy behind. Yet the thick rain of stalks is too much for him, striking him multiple times.

"AHCK!"

Right on contact, Nolan flies backward and spins in loops downward before crashing onto the ground on his back. He skids to a halt, his feet connected to his glider upward for a few moments before dropping with his legs to the grass.

With a smirk, Kale steps up to him, peering down. "You asked for it."

Nolan gazes up at him wearily. "Good attack method there."

Kale then holds his hand out toward him. Nolan takes it and uses it to get up to his two feet as his glider folds into his shoes' soles.

Kale then peers around his surrounds with knitted eyebrows. "Where's Duker?"

Nolan has his arms crossed. "Probably immersed in some mindless memes of jungle animals." He tosses his head aside, whipping his flawless hair away from his face.

Kale lets out a groan. "He said he was going to join us to practice with his new powers, right?"

"Yeah, that's what he said..." He runs his fingers through his hair, fixing it quickly.

"I'll find him." Kale pulls out his smartphone and types on it.

After a few moments, he peers up at Nolan. "Alright, he's not too far— Let's go."

With that, Nolan follows Kale down the hill.
