Back in Brandon, Kale and Reid are sitting at the dining table once again. Kale is holding his head in his hands with a sorrowful look. Next to him, Reid is helping himself to a bowl of ice cream.
"Do you think I'll ever make it to the Kings' roster?" Kale mumbles at the table.
Reid takes in a spoonful of ice cream. "I dunno." He swallows. "I ask myself the same thing with the Golden Knights." He then scrapes the walls of the bowl to gather more of the dessert into his spoon.
"But you're in their organization." He flicks his eyes to his friend. "I got transferred back to Brandon."
Reid drops his spoon into the bowl and turns to him. "That's because I'm old. You're not even twenty. Now, if you were my age, then yeah, you'll be in the AHL with me!" He gives him a big closed smile.
Kale's eyes widen with hope. "Or maybe in the NHL...!"
"Yeah..." Reid reverts back to his ice cream. "Who knows?" He takes another spoonful of it.
"Pat's lucky," Kale continues on flatly. "He gets to go straight into the NHL."
Reid swallows with a scrutinizing expression. "I wouldn't call Pat 'lucky' per se—" He gazes at his friends. "He got his body stolen and possessed by his mortal enemy, remember?"
Kale nods slowly as he processes the truth. "Right..."
"I wouldn't count you guys lucky as well," Carter's voice is heard saying from their left.
With shock written all over their faces at the unexpected statement, the two whirl to face the living room.
Standing in front of the door is Nolan, who has a sick smirk etched on his face.
Reid instantly jumps to his feet as he tosses his ice cream on the dining table and materializes his two swords into view. He holds them across his chest in a cross-shaped fashion.
Kale brings his wrist, which bears his Wrist-Moto, to his mouth with wide eyes at the intruder. "He's here!" he whispers into it.
Instantly, Nolan throws his hands out in front of him and unleashes a torrent of green magical energy.
Reid flings his forearm in front of him, causing his two swords to disintegrate into a golden mist. A black and golden heater shield assembles itself on his forearm in front of him.
The energy strikes the shield, spewing green and white bright sparks in all directions.
Reid pushes all of his force forward, fighting off the pressure attempting to push him off balance.
Suddenly, the pressure is lifted, bringing relief to the knight.
With surprise, Reid relaxes his stance and brings his shielded arm down. His peers ahead of him at Nolan; his eyes widen at his sight.
Behind him, Kale peers forward to see the source of Nolan's unexpected stoppage of his attack. He shares the same expression as his friend.
Nolan is now lying on the living room floor with a disgruntled expression. Keeping him from moving is Jake, who is kneeling on top of him with his wrists in his firm grasp.
A bright blue arrow with a ribbon attached to it then springs into the air and wraps itself around Nolan's wrists.
From Nolan's left side, Kailer yanks at the other end of the ribbon with his bow in his hands, making sure it is tightly winded around his target's wrists.
"We have captured him!" Kailer proudly announces.
On the other side of Nolan, Brett roughly grabs Nolan's arms and pulls him up to his feet. He yanks him closer to him, sticking his face into his with narrowed eyes and bared teeth.
