A sharp, orange-tinted throwing star strikes a fabric dartboard, landing in the centre of the red bullseye beside a small wheat stalk that is also protruding from the board.
"Bullseye!" Nolan pumps his fist in the air as his celebration.
The night has rolled around and the three friends are back at their home in Brandon, relaxing with a supernatural game of darts.
Kale frowns at what the board is displaying. "Aw, man." He turns his sad eyes to his tall friend. "How'd you do that?"
Nolan flicks his flawless hair haughtily. "It's a born skill. Just like my hockey skills." He gives him a smirk with the tilt of his head.
Next to Kale, Reid has a thrilled look. "Waaaiiit..." He throws his hand into the air, materializing his golden sword into view.
Kale eyes the large weapon with trepidation. "You're not going to fling that—"
Instantly, Reid thrusts his sword in front of him, having it streak across the room.
The tip of the sword's sharp blade stabs itself into the soft surface, wedging itself into the same, small hole as the throwing star.
The star clatters sadly onto the floor.
"HAH!" Reid throws his index finger at the other forward. "BEAT THAT!!!"
"That's not fair!" Nolan snaps back at him. "Your sword's too big!"
With a cheeky grin, he holds his hand out in front of him. "Felix is awesome."
The sword automatically flings itself out from the board and flies back into its owner's grasp.
Reid waves his victorious sword in the air. "Winner winner, chicken dinner!" He then lowers his weapon. "I'm gonna have chicken now." He turns around and strolls into the kitchen.
After a moment of silence, Kale turns to his taller friend.
"Well, at least you got your powers back," he told him as a form of comfort.
"Yeah." Nolan holds his hand out to the side, skillfully catching his whizzing throwing stair. He turns to the defenceman. "Wanna go for another round?"
Kale reaches out in front of him, catching his airborne metallic wheat stalk. "So that you can smoke me again?"
Nolan cranes his head toward him with a massive, marvellous grin. "What'd you think?"
A flat expression falls on his face as he turns away from him. "Fine. Use me as a doormat."
"Best out of ten!" Nolan holds his star up in the air. "Let's do this!"
Kale peers down at his stalk and mutters, "If only you had Carter's powers..."
Nolan instantly whirls to him with a scowl at his grumbling. "What was that?"
Kale perks up at him with guilt. "No-nothing." He directs his wheat stalk toward the board. "You can go."
With a superior grin, Nolan holds his star behind his shoulder then hurls it out in front of him.
