Nearby the waters on the foamy, moist sand, Kale has yet to catch up to Reid. "Duker!"

Reid halts by the edge of the waves, staring out excitedly at the churning waters. "This is so cool!" He immediately freezes as he feels cold water washing over his feet. "Whoa!!!" He peers down watching the waters rush against his ankles, sucking the sand beneath his feet toward the ocean. "I feel it pulling me in!"

Kale finally reaches him, halting next to him. "That's how the ocean's like; it always pulls you in like that. But don't be scared of it, it's easy to get out it from this distance."

The waves are completely pulled back into the ocean, revealing the moist sand once again.

Reid adjusts his floatie, gazing out at the scenery. "I wonder how far I can go..."

Kale turns to him. "Can you swim well?"

"Don't worry, I won't sink, I got my duckie!" Reid puffs his chest in confidence and squeezes the side of his floatie.

His floatie squeaks in response.

Kale nods at the inflatable object. "Well, let's hope your duckie can keep up." He chuckles at it.

Reid pats the side of his floatie. "Stay with me, duckie!" He then rushes off into the ocean, kicking up water in all direction.

"I'll be your backup!" Kale hurries in after him, also spraying water behind him.

Reid peeks behind his shoulder, following his friend with his eyes as he catches up to him. "Do you wanna floatie, Claguer?"

"I can swim." Kale then dives smoothly into the water and begins gliding through the shallow water. "I got tons of practice with all the vacations I've been to, like when I went to—"

"AH-HA!" Reid's eyes fly open with shock. "I'm floating!" He kicks his legs in the water, sensing only layers of thick water beneath him. "I feel no ground, I feel NO GROUND!!! AH-HA, HA, HA, HAAA!!!" He holds his breath and holds still, letting him drift through the lapping waters. "I don't know whether to laugh or cry."

Kale halts next to him with concern, treading water. "Are you okay? You've never been this deep in the ocean before?"

"No, no—" Reid shakes his head, replacing his fear with determination. "I got this, yes, Reid Duke, you got this, you got..." His eyes slowly widen with shock at something ahead. "What on earth...?"

Kale gives him a bewildered expression. "What?" He turns away, peering ahead what his friend is gazing. His eyes immediately widen with his jaw dropped. "WHOA."

Ahead of them is a giant, churning whirlpool with a turquoise glow swirling beneath its wall's layers. It is sucking in the contrasting deep blue waters from the surface, powering itself.

Reid peeks at Kale. "Is that normal?"

Kale shakes his head slowly, not tearing his eyes away from the strange phenomenon. "Uhhh, nooo..."

"Well, let's see what it is!" He begins drifting toward it.

Kale shakes his head vehemently with wide eyes. "I don't think that's a good idea!"

"Too late!" Reid bellows at the whirlpool. "It's pulling me in!" He peers behind his shoulder, spotting Kale floating toward him. "I thought you said it's a bad idea!"

"Yeah, but it's pulling me in too!" Kale cries out, attempting to turn against the pull of the vortex.

Reid whirls back around, staring down at the luminous whirlpool ominously approaching him. "OH NO, WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!" he screams, cupping his hands on his cheeks.

In franticness, Kale is propelling his arms and legs to strive swimming away from the vortex. Behind him, the strange whirlpool is drawing closer to him at an alarming rate.

"No, we're not, no, we're not, no, we're—" He is yanked toward it, skidding backward on the surface. "WHOOOAAA!!!"

He is then thrown into the middle of the vortex with Reid.

"AAAHHH!!!"

They spin down and down against its walls as the radiant waters swirl around them. The wind of the vortex's force whips around them as the turquoise-coloured water sprays at them and the rushing and howling sounds fill their ears. Then they suddenly plummet through the vortex's bottom, entering the calm ocean.
