The next morning, Kale is lumbering down the hallway of the second floor. He passes by Nolan's opened bedroom. Although his eyes are downcast, they eyes immediately widen with realization, causing his head to perk up.

He shuffles backward, becoming parallel to the bedroom once again. He slowly faces it and peers into it from the hallway.

Staring back at him from the other side is the dim, vacant room. All he can see is the blind-covered window, his desk, and half of his bed in the blue-tinted shadiness.

Kale's wide eyes get lost in its darkness as his mind digs up the memories of the bedroom's owner.

"I can't believe I'm saying this," he murmurs, "but...I miss him. It's weird to be able to stare into his room for this long." He scrunches his eyebrows with a frown. "Where's Pat to scold me and boot me out?"

"Dwelling on Pat?" Reid's voice is heard saying from his right.

Kale lets out a huge sigh, snapping from his trance. He hunches over with a weary look. "Yeeeaaahhh..."

Reid gives his friend a small smile. "No worries, we'll get him!" He pats his back. "We have to get him."

Kale straightens up and turns to him with worry. "Even with Carter's magic?"

"We merge!" He throws his hands in the air with a big grin.

Hope appears in Kale's eyes. "Right!" He excitedly rubs his hands together. "We should practice merging!"

"I have to go to Chicago." Reid casts his eyes down with annoyance.

Kale lets out a deflating huff and drops his hands. "Right. Well, we can do it afterward..." He then breezes by his friend and toward the staircase.

Reid follows him with his eyes. "Yeah!" He then rushes after him.
