Flashback

It has been about two, three weeks since I had been here with Nic and his family in the sea. In this two or three weeks, I had attended five royal balls; they were all strange, seven dinners; I am so sick of fish, and fourteen birthday events. I knew what I was getting myself into, Nic warned me on the way to his home, although then it was to late to change my mind about the sea thing.

*Flashback*

"I should have told you this before you made your choice Marina, I'm a prince of a merkingdom." He said to me. I look at him shocked, how could he keep that from me? Not that it would affect anything with us, but it would have been nice to know that my other half was royalty.

"Yea, that would have been nice to know Nic." I say to him, kind of up set.

'I know, and I'm really sorry. Will you forgive me?" he asks me. I nod to him, I couldn't be mad at him for a secret, even though he shouldn't have kept it from me.

"Now that that is out of the way, I have to tell you about my mom and dad. My father isn't a huge fan of humans, neither is my mother. My fathers brother, was killed by humans and one of my little sisters was killed as well. They will welcome you with open arms though, so don't be worried."  How could he say that? I was going to be scared as mess now!

"Marina, don't freak." He says with a smile on his face. "My mom was human, you honestly have nothing to worry about."

"Why did you tell me that then?" I ask him.

"I thought that you would want to know what we have been through. Anyway, I have two younger sisters, Shimmer and Kita, Kita is the oldest. My father has another brother, Triton, and yes the king of the sea. We are only allowed to go to the surface when we are in the sea caves, or we hear our syren, and I think that is all I have to tell you which is a good thing cause we are here."

After that day, I have been busy none stop. The day that I saw Gatlyin was my first "off" day in what felt like forever. Even though I'm complaining, I wouldn't trade this for nothing.

"Marina, we have a party to be at tomorrow night, it's one of Kita's little friends and she wanted to know if you, and only you would take her." Oceania asks me. I nod to her then she adds, "Your friend, Gatlyin, she knows all about us dosn't she?"

"Yes, the night I made my choice  I had to tell her. I texted her and my mom filled in the rest of it. She would never hurt us Oceania, you should have realized that when she warned you that day at my moms." I say to her. I knew that I was being bold but, I defend the people I love.

"I wasn't saying anything ill about her child, I was going to suggest that she become one of us."
