hey guys I had to rewrite chapter 2 this stupid computer erased 1/2 of it. So reread it=)

Well, today is the day, I'm officially nineteen today. My mom has been crying all day! I have heard, "My little baby is growing up."  "Your not my baby anymore." and my personal favorite "Before you know it you will be married and be giving me grand kids."

I wish I could say that I was sad about this but im not at all. In this odd way, I felt like this was a new chapter in my life. Like I was about to start a new life in a different world. Silly I know....but it's how I feel.

 My baby girl was grown up and I just I wasn't ready for this at all. I knew what this meant and...I didn't want this to happen. Nic was going to come for Marina and either she chose land or the sea. He wouldn't pressure her into anything but I knew he wanted her to come with him to his home in the sea, and I knew my daughter, she would choose the sea. This all started the day he saved her.

*flashback*

It was our first vacation without my husband. We were on our big lugubrious curse ship to the Caymon Islands. The day was going good, the sun was shinning casting shimmers on the crystal blue water, and not a cloud in the sky. The water started to become cloudy and the captain didn't  see the reef. The boat started sinking in two minutes and within three hours it was in the bottom of the ocean. I was on land when I realized that my daughter wasn't with me.

"MARINA!!" I yelled out to her, no answer.

That's when I saw him, this beautiful young man. He was about six feet tall with platinum blond hair that had hints of ocean blue highlights.

"Here she is ma'ma. Do you mind me asking her name?" He asked me.

"Her name is Marina, why do you ask?" I looked at him with wonder in my eyes. He obviously felt something for my daughter even though this is the first time they ever meet.

"Can I talk to you in private please?"

*end of flashback*

When he asked to talk to me I was in shock of what he told me. He told me what he was and what my daughter was to him. I being me didn't believe him until he went into the water and i saw his tail. He was beautiful and I knew that when Marina saw him she would fall instantly in love with him. He told me that she had the choice between land and the sea, if she chose land he would live on the land with him, and if she chose sea, she would live in the ocean with him.

"Mom! I'm going for a swim!" she yells to me. I wipe away the tears from my eyes before she can see me crying.

"Be back in time for your guests young lady!" I yell up the stairs to her.

"I will I promise." She says to me. She kisses my cheek then runs out the door.

 Today was the day that I will finally get to see her. My heart starts to beat like a hammer inside my chest as I star to get closer to her house. When I get to her door step her mother welcomed me into the house. She looks at me then offers me a hug.

"Hello Malinda. How are you?" I ask her. She looks like she had bee crying.

"I'm fine Nic. She isn't here she went for a swim before her guests arrive." She says to me. I look at her with worry in my eyes, what if she rejected me? She didn't have to accept me but I knew the consequences of a rejection, permanent life alone. No one would even compare to her and I would spend my life alone.

"Nic?" Her moms voice snaped me back into reality. "If you are worried that she won't choose the sea...you shouldn't be. She will choose you, she loves the sea." She says to me.

"But, Malinda, can she love me?" I ask then walk outside to the deck. I hear her walk behind me. When we both stop she puts her hand on my shoulder.

"Nic, look at me. She doesn't know you, but in her heart she knows of you. She has told me of a guy that comes to her in her sleep and she is captivated." She assures me. I stand there wondering if she is right or not. All Marina's life she had wanted to be in the ocean, but if she chooses the sea, she has to stay with me in the sea forever. She could never come back to land to see her mother or any of her family.

"Malinda, you realize that if she chooses the sea she will never see you again?" Her face becomes a picture of sadness but is quickly masked with a huge smile.

"I know, but she will be happy that she found her other half and for that I will not shed a tear of sadness for her. My babies happiness is all I need in this world Nic, and you will give this to her." I hope she is right.

As I swim in the water I feel a sense of freedom. I didn't want to leave but I knew that soon my guest would be arriving soon so I would have to. I ran up to the shore and got my clothes. As I was walking to my front door I felt something strange inside me. When I opened my front door I almost fainted, it was him the beautiful man in my dreams. He must have realized that I walked in because as soon as I had his head instantly turns to me.

"Mom, who is this." I ask her.

"Oh goodness child, you gave me a heart attack." She smiles at me then gesters  for me to come over to her and this mystery man that I knew I had seen before, "Marina, this is Nicadimus. Nic, this is Marina." In that instant, I knew. This was the boy who haunted my dreams with his sweet seduction. My heart leaped at the sight of his face and the hug that he gave me. What was happening to me?
