"Someone who really loves you sees what a mess you can be, how moody you can get, how hard you are to handle, but still wants you."-Unknown
Ever since the team battles have ended, the mood durning Beyclub training has drastically improved. Everyone seemed a lot more light hearted now that we weren't stressed for our team competitions. Even Lui seemed in a better mood towards everyone, well, except Anna, which I still don't understand. Speaking of Anna, she's improved a lot since she first joined. Now that Gabe wasn't working with us so hard, he's had some time to work with her on her own skills.
Now everyone's just preparing for the individual matches. Well, not everyone. Shinki and Kyo didn't qualify for the nationals. Ever since our night at the park, Lui and I have been getting along much better. We're training together more often now. Since I'm not eligible to compete this year, I'm really the only one Lui can practice with without giving away any strategy. I can tell everyone had noticed a drop in Lui's hostility, yet no one has brought it up. I not surprised though, it's not like they're complaining.
My hand has fully healed, so I'm back to my full self when it comes to blading. I haven't seen any memeber of the Beigoma Academy Beyclub since the finals, but I was kind of hoping to run into them soon. Lui never really brought them up. He didn't seem thrilled when he heard I had been hanging with them, but that's better than him be angry. He knows I can handle myself.
Now it was after school and we were all training. The individual matches start in three days. I launched my bey into the stadium against Lui's. I've loved my bey since the moment I laid eyes on it, and even more when I first used it. Ryūjin is stubborn, and despite being a stamina type, it doesn't like taking the center. Even though it has impressive defense. It's strong build only helps it make stronger hits when it goes on the offensive and its stamina helps it deliver hit after hit without faltering.
Stamina beys also are usually good at drawing battles out, but my style is like Lui's. One hit. That's what usually takes my opponents of guard if they haven't studied my tactics. They'll go for my bey instead of putting up a defense, and its counterclockwise rotation gives it the advantage in that kind of an attack.
Though, even if I dislike it, I have to drawl out the battle when it comes to Lui. His bey is an attack type along with its spin direction which gives him the advantage in a straight on attack.
I watch as Lui's bey slowly comes to a halt as mine spins in the middle, still going strong. The exact same outcome to ever other battle today. I could tell he was distracted. "Lui, what's going..." I cut myself off as I looked up to see he hadn't even noticed the battle had ended. Instead, he was glaring at something from across the room. I follow his line of sight until my eyes land on Gabe and Anna.
Gabe had his chest pressed against her back and his arms wrapped around her as he adjusted her stance. Even from across the room I could see the red tint to her cheeks. I looked back and forth between all of them. The look in Lui's eye was one I rarely see. Jealousy.
My head started hurting from all the different things running through it. Lui has absolutely hated Anna since day one and I've never known why. When Lui makes up his mind about someone, it's made. There's no changing it. That thought caused a conversation I had with Gabe to pop into my head. Durning the finals Gabe said that Lui challenged him, which means Lui has always been sort of friendly towards him. Then there's the fact that Lui always looses his attitude around him.
I felt like screaming when everything finally made since. Lui didn't hate Anna, no, he was jealous of her. The reason he was jealous of her? He likes Gabe.
