Chapter 6
Friday. Finally.
A nice, warm Friday, to relax at last. I lied on my bed, playing Brick Breaker on my iPhone. I was bored out of my mind, and to make matters worse something weird was up with my Wi-Fi, so now I was completely screwed. I groaned and placed my phone on my messed up bed, and walked to the curtains and closed them. Everything was dark now, except for my phone's screen. I flopped on my bed, my face hitting my pillows and tried to go back to sleep as I closed my eyes, which weren't tired at all. For about five minutes, I stayed like that. After I noticed it was no use, I gave up and rolled off the bed, hitting the floor with a noisy thud. I groaned and starting crawling -yes crawling- to the light switch. I tried to turn on the light, but couldn't because I was still on the floor. I stood up and turned it on. Just as on cue, my phone started playing We Are Young, by Fun. I widened my eyes, and ran towards it, hoping for it to be something good, and something that didn't involve sleeping or crawling around. I looked down at the screen, with a new text. I clicked it open, hoping it wasn't another of the many commercial texts about soap I received almost daily from some stupid company, and saw that it was a text from Nicolas, making me grin.
Hey! Got a day off. Wanna do something?
Sure! :D I texted back feeling grateful I had met him, because probably I would have stayed all day long inside my room, like in a cave and drift off to sleep.
I waited for his idea to do something, craving to already leave this room. It was taking him some time, so meanwhile I got dressed up with some white shorts and a dark blue blouse, and started combing my knotty hair. Just then my phone played again my text ringtone. I widened my eyes and ran out of my bathroom and took my phone. New text.
Cool! Meet me in the lobby?
Okay just give me five minutes.
I continued combing my hair, more like pulling it because of the stupid knots. I was running all around, trying to get ready faster. I applied some mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss, and some of my Be Delicious by DKNY perfume as well. As for my shoes, I grabbed my matching blue sandals. I took my camera with me, and headed out.
----
"So this is my apartment, and that's Kevin, my younger brother." He said, pointing a dark, messy haired guy sitting on a green couch, busy enough playing Call of Duty. Kevin turned around, and waved at me. He had the same gorgeous blue-gray eyes as Nic.
"Hey." He said, pulling a lazy smirk.
"This is Ianna." Nicolas introduced me. I smiled and said hi.
"Wow, Nicolas finally brought a girl over. It's been such a looooooong time." Kevin said emphasizing ‘long’ and turned around to continue playing. I frowned and looked over at Nicolas who rolled his eyes. I wondered what he meant by long time though It was none of my business, so I didn't have to know. I looked around his apartment, which had a hint of smell as coffee. The place had a white, tiled floor, with beige walls. It was a small apartment. He had the green couch Kevin was sitting on, a TV which didn't look new at all, a wooden coffee table, and a bookshelf over the edge. His kitchen was really small, and looked hardly used, with its wooden cabinets, some dining chairs with a bar table in front, it had a small crack on a wall. This place obviously wasn't the place you would love to throw a party in, just a place you would like to just invite a couple of friends over and have a good time. I liked it. It reminded me of the typical college guy's apartment, though I saw no dirty clothes on the floor, pizza boxes thrown just in the middle of nowhere, or any beer bottles for the matter. Not that I cared.
Nicolas looked at me expectantly, maybe wondering if I liked the place. I had loved it.
"So this is it. It’s just simple-"
