Chapter 2

I woke up, with a feeling as if I was missing something. I didn’t remember what it was, so I shrugged the thought away. It must probably be something stupid, as a scarf or something.

I jumped out of bed, and walked to my closed, white curtains. I needed the sun to come in, so I just pushed aside the curtain. The sun instantly blinded me for some seconds, until my eyes got used to the sudden light. It must be around 11:30, because the rays weren’t that bad. I turned around and walked to my bathroom, which I hadn’t seen earlier. I opened the white door, and noticed first a giant bathtub, which could easily be classified as a Jacuzzi and around seven people could fit tightly. Its base was made of white marble, just as the floor. The wall was in the same shade of red as my room, with little rocks to decorate. There was also a cabinet with lots of towels, each decorated with a certain shape. The sink was also made of marble, just as the toilet, and had a giant framed mirror. I had never seen such a bathroom. I was used to the simple ones, with just a simple shower, a worn out towel maybe, and the rest the same.

I stripped out of my clothes, and started filling the tub with warm water. I hadn’t paid much attention to the tub, until I saw that on the water’s surface, red flower petals decorated it. I sighed.

As soon as the tub was filled with the water limit, I submerged myself into the warm water, and took the best bath in my entire life, making the sleepiness fade away.

----

I wrapped a towel around my body and started looking in my luggage for a cute outfit to wear. I rummaged around, until I found my V- neck white dress, which reached a little higher than my knees. I quickly got it on, and started brushing my wet hair, expecting it to dry itself later.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My long, brown hair looked okay, which I had let it loose. My grey eyes didn’t look tired, after all. The dress looked pretty. I had almost forgotten about the makeup, so I also searched for my makeup bag, after about 5 minutes of rummaging. I made a mental note to myself to unpack as soon as I can.

I opened my pink makeup bag with 'NEW YORK' printed on with big, cursive letters, and took my favorite  light coral lipstick and applied it on my lips. I also applied my brown eyeliner carefully, because I have had bad experiences with it. And to finish, just a little mascara only on my upper eyelashes. Done.

I was ready.  I quickly grabbed my white pumps, and started heading outside.

Wait. I forgot my camera. Then, I remembered I hadn’t seen it since yesterday’s night. I had been busy thinking about the Room Service guy. The room service guy! I had to see him today- wait. My camera! I didn't know where I could find it. Didn't hotels have a lost n' found somewhere? I figured out it could be in the lobby.

I headed quickly towards the lobby, feeling my heartbeat grow quicker and quicker. What if I had completely lost it? I started walking faster, avoiding bumping out with everyone until I saw the front desk in front of me. Alexandre was there, looking busy. I walked to him, interrupting his work. He glanced up at me with a questioning look, but then wiped it off with a smile. The typical employee fake smile.

“Good morning! How can I help-?”

“I have lost my camera.” I interrupted, getting tense. I had lots of photos there; I could not afford wasting all of them. He gave me a smile and told me to wait for a few seconds. He reached down his desk, and pulled something with him. He held out a camera case I could identify everywhere.  It was my camera case with colorful squares. I widened my eyes and started feeling great, and relieved.

“I guess this one is yours, here’s your name attached to it, Mrs. Campbell. One of our room service work-“

“Oh my god! thank you so much!” I interrupted again, then, I felt curious about what he was saying. “Wait, what?”
