You don't know how much your comments inspire me to write, so please comment. Anyway thank you guys! Enjoy!
Chapter 14
“Got any plans for today?” Nic asked. I shrugged, not really knowing whether I would end up procrastinating all day long, or doing something that involved getting dressed up and stuff. Today was one of those days in which I would’ve normally stayed in my pajamas all day long, but seeing Nicolas ask this cheerfully, it made me want to go out with him again. I would be leaving Paris in around a month and a half, so why not make the most out of my trip?
“I’ve got no idea, why?” I replied groggily. I was still trying to recover myself from that hangover I had, because of the glasses of wine from yesterday. I had woken up today in Nicolas’s apartment- of course we didn’t do anything- with a terrible headache. I had already taken an aspirin and everything, but the pain wouldn’t go away.
“Well, I was thinking about going out with some friends of mine, whom I’m sure you’ll like. They’re great and everything.” Then he added worriedly when he saw me wince because of my stupid headache. “Of course, only if you’re feeling up for it.”
I sighed but then managed to smile through my horrendous throbbing pain. “Alright, just because you asked for it,” I said. “But don’t you have to work until late today?”
He shrugged and then scratched the back of his head. “Yeah, well… about that, I was thinking about calling in sick today or something,” he mumbled. I widened my eyes. This had been at least the seventh time he had bailed on work to hang out. He would get fired soon enough if he kept doing this, and that was something I didn’t want to see happening. I looked at him with a face of disbelief.
“Nic, this will be the seventh time you’ve bailed on work,” I said worriedly. “I don’t think you should, maybe you could get fired!”
He just smiled and shook his head. “Nah, I’ve got that covered. Plus, I won’t let some stupid work get me away from you,” he said with a cheeky smile. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
“If you get fired, it will be your fault, you know that?” I said and then sighed again. He looked at me with those pleading, puppy eyes. “Alright, just for this time.”
He smiled and kissed my cheek. “This is why I love you,” he said happily. I shook my head and tried to keep up a serious face, but it was really hard to be mad at him, specially with those beautiful, piercing blue eyes. I just mumbled a ‘yeah, yeah’ and sat down on his couch. Kevin suddenly came into the apartment with his hair completely messed up. He walked in with something on his neck, a mark or something.
“Seems like you’ve been busy,” Nicolas said with a knowing smirk, looking at the small hickey Kevin had on his neck. Kevin rolled his eyes and waved him away. He didn’t say a word, instead he went straight into his room and shut the door after him. Well that was weird. That’s when it hit me. He had been flirting with Zara plenty of times right? I suddenly gasped and widened my eyes, Nicolas giving me a weird look. I pulled out my phone and texted Zara something about the mark she had left on Kevin’s neck. That wasn’t like her after all. She quickly replied back.
‘WHAT?’ The text read. Nicolas sat down on the couch, placing an arm around me and watched me text Zara. He had a bored look, so he began playing around with my hair. I didn’t know what was going on, so I texted Zara that I had just seen Kevin with a mark. That’s when it hit me that it probably hadn’t been Zara, which must’ve sucked for her. She would be devastated when she realized Kevin had been with someone else, for she had admitted to me that she actually liked Kevin.
