Chapter 10
Dear family,
I know I’ve not written anything to you lately, and I know I could have just typed this quickly into an email (I was just feeling like I should write a letter, old styled and everything) but anyway, I have been having a wonderful time. I’ve met someone… a guy, and even some other friends. I love everything about Paris; it’s just so beautiful here. I’ll send you some pictures as soon as I can. How have you been, anyway? Any news? Well I have just so much to tell you; maybe we could talk in Skype or something.
And yeah, I’ve been working on the photo shoots and everything, in case you were wondering. I want to tell you everything right now, but I think I won’t have enough time or even have enough pages to send you a giant letter. I hope everything has been alright there back in Virginia. I love you so much! It was nice writing you this! And dad, I don’t even know where you even got that stereotype of French people here… they are actually pretty clean… just saying. Oh, and I tried out some escargot, and it was delicious… just saying. Bye mom! Bye dad! Oh and by the way, I haven’t checked your emails, for I don’t even know where my laptop charger is currently… but I’ll find it.
P.S.: I went to the Eiffel tower mom, envy that! (:

I dropped the pen I was using for this letter, and sighed. I had not been thinking that much about my family lately, but it was just so good to write to them finally. Plus, it was lovely writing a letter, as in the old styled way, because it had always been something I’ve wanted to do, as in serious business, from a country to a whole other one, not just from my house to my neighbor’s house.
I smiled proudly at my letter. I knew it was a short one, but it was enough. I grabbed my matching pink tote, reapplied quickly my matching lipstick color, and did what I had come used to; I dialed the room service number. I knew today Nicolas would be able to go out with me, for his working shift ended early in the afternoon. I waited some seconds before someone at the reception desk answered the phone.
“Bonjour, comment puis-je vous aider?” A male voice asked me. I replied in French that I was wondering if I could get more towels to my room, apparently the first thing that popped into my mind, at least something not embarrassing this time as I remembered the incident I had three weeks ago.
“Bien sûr, ils vont vous être envoyés tout de suite. Passez une bonne journée.” The male replied to me, assuring me that the towels would be on their way to my room as soon as possible.
“Merci,” I said and hung up. Now the only thing I had to do would be to wait for the knock on my door I was now used to, before I could see Nic again. I sat down meanwhile on my bed, and quickly sent a text to my best friend, Zara.
“Hey, what’s up? When R U coming to France? Can’t wait! Xx,” I texted quickly and waited for her to reply. Then the thought hit me. It’s like… five in the morning in Virginia. Of course she wouldn’t be up at these hours!
If Zara came, my trip to Paris would become even better than it is right now. If only she could arrive at this moment, right away so that she could see this amazing place, and maybe even meet Nic, whom she had been asking about frequently. Suddenly, a ton of memories we had spent together engulfed my mind. These memories made me miss her more than ever, even though it had only been three weeks ago since I last saw her.
Someone knocked on my door three times, causing me to get excited to see Nic again. I opened the door, and greeted him with a long hug, inhaling his fresh cologne. He hugged me back, and whispered a quick ‘I missed you’ in my ear, making me blush.
