Chapter 2

2.  Better late than never

"Honeymoon?",Annika and Shivaay asked in unison,recovering from their initial shock.

Rudra nodded excitedly at that.While the others gave a small smile,which indicated that it was indeed true.

"Do we look like some newlywed to you guys?Moreover,I'm going there for some work purpose,I don't think this is a good idea guys.",said Shivaay,even though some where deep inside he wanted to-scratch that,he WAS quite excited to go with Annika even though he wasn't quite sure about Annika's opinion,so he decided against it lest she gets upset.

Shivaay felt as if Annika's faced turned into a disappointed frown,but he chucked it thinking that he was probably over analysing things.

She wouldn't want to join him for a trip,would she?

"Offo bhaiya,we knew that you guys wouldn't just agree for a straight honeymoon trip,so we decided to give you all some time off like this.All thanks to my brilliant idea",saying so,rudra patted  himself while others rolled their eyes.

"Yes Shivaay,you and babhi really need some time off,to loosen up a bit and there's nothing better than a holdiay to do so,right?Take this as a wedding gift from our side",Om said in his usual no-nonsense tone.

Annika remained quiet throughout this conversation as she was busy pondering over it.It would be her first trip with Shivaay alone.Sure,she did go to places with the entire family,but being alone with Shivaay,even though for few days was something new to her.Also,the fact that Rudra refered to it as a honeymoon kinda trip felt quite..intimate to her.She didn't know why,but it did something to her.

"Annika,tu kuch bol kyu nahi rahi?",asked Pinky in her sweet tone,which was previously used exclusively for her heera beta.

"I-I don't think this is a good idea,Aunty",she finally put forth her view.

"Don't call me that Annika,Aunty sounds so distant.What is that word you use?Oh yeah,michmichi hoti hai.Call me Mom",Pinky lovingly said while Annika looked at her with a shocked face before noding in a yes.

"As much as I'd love to see this saas-bahu pyaar,it's better if we put it to rest,we're diverting from the topic.",said Rudra only to receive a smack from Om.

"I agree with Annika.Also,It's too late for honeymoon,guys.I think it's better if we drop this topic here itself.",said Shivaay while sipping his espresso.

Rudra sulked before explaining it to them it is not necessarily a 'honeymoon',they can simply consider it as a holiday,while others agreed.

He added,"Also,who said it's too late?Better late than never,bhaiya.Now it is upto you guys to literally take this trip as a honeymoon or not",saying so,he winked while Annika blushed beet red.Shivaay blushed a bit as well,before composing himself and mumbled a 'Shut up,Rudra' throwing a stern glare his way.

After few negotiations and arguments,it was finally decided that Annika and Shivaay would go for the trip.That too within two days.After all,like they say,better late than never,right?

"Annika,I think they're right,it'll be good to have some time off.We'll get to know each other better as well.",said Shivaay before leaving for office and Annika was amused at the difference in his tone,which managed to sent shiver down her spine or was she simply imagining things these days?
