8.Late nights and things might.

Annika had already changed into a polka dotted pyjama set by the time Shivaay got back to the room.He looked at her intently as she cleared the rose petals off the bed.Walking towards his luggage,she took his night wear out before handing it to him,indicating to freshen up.Shivaay obliged,walking towards the washroom.

Annika was on the phone with Sahil when Shivaay exited the washroom.He smiled as she spoke animatedly.

"What time is it in India now?",Annika spoke excitedly on the phone as she sat on the bed with a thud.

"It must be evening",Shivaay spoke sitting beside her while Annika gave him a sharp look mouthing a 'not asking you' to Shivaay.

Shivaay raised his hands in surrender while laughing.Later,he spoke to Sahil as well before ending the call.

Both of them were seated on the bed facing each other. The moment Shivaay laid his eyes on Annika,there was some awkwardness in the air.He looked attentively,the moon casting a beautiful glow on her makeup free face,making her look heavenly.

Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear,he tenderly stroked her face with his thumb,causing a sudden shift in the air.It wasn't awkward anymore,it was something else.Something that made Annika's heart throb in a faster pace,something that made her excited and nervous at the same time.

The feeling was new to Annika,but she had a strange comfort in it.Annika forgot how to breathe as his fingers traced her face.His simplest of touch had this kind of effect on her,which surprised them both equally.

"Beautiful",said Shivaay in a trance making Annika look straight into his eyes.As if regaining his senses,Shivaay withdrew his hand from her face abruptly.

"I mean..Rio is a beautiful place.D-did I mention that b-before?",Shivaay stammered while pressing his temple."There was something on your face by the way".
"Dang!What even was I upto?",he mentally scolded himself.

Annika shook her head,trying to ease the situation.She simply got under the duvet without responding while Shivaay walked towards his side of the bed.Annika cursed her faith as he got under the duvet as well.Great!Now we have to share a duvet.Urgh!

Annika switched sides so as to not face him.Shutting her eyes tightly,she mentally tried explaining herself that there was nothing awkward in it.Absolutely nothing!

She turned again,so as to face the ceiling and so did Shivaay.He took most of the duvet in the process making Annika scowl.She pulled it towards her and so did he.

"Can you stop taking it all to yourself,I'm cold too.",Annika spoke in an annoyed tone making Shivaay chuckle audibly.Though he wasn't facing her,he could imagine an adorable expression on her face.

"Well,that's your fault.You don't have to be on the extreme end of the bed.It's not like I'll eat you up or anything.",Shivaay stated making Annika throw a cushion at him,which hit him on his face.

Shivaay spoke after a while as Annika moved a bit closer to him,"Aren't you sleepy?It's quite late."

"I'm jet lagged.My biological clock hasn't adjusted yet I guess.No sleep.",she spoke turning,so as to face him.

She could see his face due to the night light and understood that he wasn't sleepy either.Shivaay smiled looking at her,a smile which made him look younger."You should smile like this more often."

Shivaay looked at her with the smile still on his face."Maybe I'll do it if I have you around me more often."

Annika smiled snuggling into a cushion."You have me for two whole weeks for now.Isn't that enough?",she spoke in a teasing tone.

"With you,it's never enough",he murmured to himself.

"Did you say something?",she asked to which Shivaay responded in negative.

Shivaay spoke after a while,scooting even closer to Annika."There's a famous street nearby,within walking distance.We can go there tomorrow and do some shopping as well.",Shivaay suggested to which Annika readily agreed.

Annika looked at him in a questioning manner as he got extremely closer."It's quite cold",he lamely reasoned."Besides,am I not your friend?",he added.Annika's face dropped a bit at that but Shivaay brushed it off thinking it as his imagination.Afterall,she was the one to 'friend-zone' him,right?

Annika spoke after a while in her usual chirpy tone."What else are we doing tomorrow?"

"We have a party to attend as well.But not tomorrow,the day after.After our deal is finalised.Then we can start with our honeymoon after that.",he spoke the last part huskily making Annika shudder a bit.
His manly,sexy husky tone had that weird kind of effect on her.She knew he was teasing her,but yet.

They spoke about their plans for some time before silence took over and both of them drifted off to deep slumber in each other's arms for the first time after their marriage.
