"Mavean go get changed. We need Crimson. Now," Cage said, eyes on the attacker. Mavean nodded and gave the Glock to him.
"You're gonna need this. Good luck," she said and hurried off.
The man aimed the rifle at Cage. He was going for centre mass. Cage ducked behind the trees and shots were fired. 3 shots. Cage got out of the way in the nick of time. He took off his school shirt and took out a t-shirt and a leather jacket. He loaded the Glock with new ammunition and took a deep breath in.
Anticipate. Think. Outsmart. Beat.
Cage then unleashed 3 shots. All missed the target, but it sent the attacker into hiding. A few seconds later, the tree he was hiding behind was shot at a few more times. And there was a pause.
He was reloading
Cage got out from hiding and unleashed 4 shots. The attacker moved quickly, and escaped the shots and Cage went to another tree. Within seconds the tree was shot at, and one barely missed Cage's skin, but Cage felt the impact of the sharp tree bark pierce through his skin. He then unleashed two more shots before realising he was out of ammo.
Shit, Cage thought. It was all about the running now.
Outsmart and beat.
How the hell was he supposed to outsmart him? Let alone beat him? Cage only had one option, and that was escape.
Suddenly, as the attacker stood up to fire at Cage, 3 lethal blows landed on the attacker's chest.
Bang bang bang
Cage lay down so he wasn't caught in the crossfire, and looked up to see Crimson holding a H&K rifle.
"Nice shot," Cage said.
"Nice job staying alive dumbass," Crimson spat back.
Just then, another car pulled up to them. A blue BMW. Inside, Cage saw Raven.
"Get in Cage, I mean it," he said fiercely.
"Forgive me if I don't immediately faint in terror," Cage said.
Then, Cage felt a muzzle pressed on his side.
"I'm sorry Cage. Desperate times call for desperate measures," Crimson said, mockingly.
Three more similar cars pulled up around Cage, and men stepped out pointing all sorts of guns at him. Aaron then stepped out and said, "We got you now, tough guy."
Cage then got in the car with Crimson, and all the cars drove off.
*"Sir, they have Cage, and they killed our man," said the voice.
"Use the blackmail protocol. Cage might be invulnerable, but I doubt all of them are. Ask them to hand him over, and we won't kill them all yet," said the man from the desk.
"If they refuse?"
"Kill them and everyone they love."
"Yes sir," then the line went dead.
The man from the desk smiled. He didn't even have to try. Cage was playing everything to his tune. He lay back and sipped his coffee.
*Cage and Crimson got out of the car, with Crimson still holding the rifle to his head. The rest got out, all holding guns pointed at Cage and escorted him into the fight club.
Crimson demanded Cage to stand at the center and the gangs formed a ring around him, forming a barrier in which he could not escape.
Smart people, Cage thought. Well, then again, power was at stake, and given the world today, power is everything. People will kill, steal and destroy for it. Cage knew cause once upon a time he was like that.
Cage could not out think or outsmart them. They did real good in containing him, and clearly no one was taking any chances with him. Smart people.
Aaron then came to the center of the circle and judged Cage. Then, he gave a solid right hook to Cage's left cheek. Cage fell on the floor and looked up. Crimson was still pointing the gun at him so there was no point fighting back.
"Not so tough now are you?" Aaron mocked.
Aaron then pointed a Beretta at Cage's head, before using the handle to hit Cage's head. Hard. Bad mistake. Cage got angry but there was no point fighting. If he made the slightest of moves towards Aaron, he would have over 10 bullets put through him. He won't take the chance yet.
"Aren't you gonna get up and snap my hands Cage?" Aaron asked, smirking.
"What's the point? I fear for you. The nearest hospital is around 20 minutes away and you won't have the luxury of time to wait," Cage said.
Aaron hit him again.
"Aaron!" Crimson yelled, shifting the aim towards Aaron. Aaron froze.
"Don't make me shoot you. You are not the leader. You don't call the shots, and you don't beat anyone till permission is given. Unless you are asking to die," Crimson said venomously.
Aaron backed off, slowly, signalling surrender. He knew he was no match for Crimson.
Crimson grabbed Cage's collar and pulled him up.
"You are going to tell us what we want to hear. Or else, we will shoot you. Right here, right now,". Crimson snarled.
Cage was left with no option.
He was trapped.
