As the weeks passed Thomas and Newt continued to lose friends in the favor of the war between Newt and Teresa. The one person who never questioned the side they were on was Brenda Lakes. She didn't believe Teresa for a word she said, Brenda didn't trust her anymore due to Teresa betraying her more than once in life. Brenda was always there for Teresa, but Teresa had never been there for Brenda.

Minho stayed on Teresa's side and Jeff followed. Thomas' got Harriet to get on his and Newt's side, she also brought Zart with her. Thomas wasn't gonna lie, he missed his misfits, but if they weren't willing to be loyal, Thomas wouldn't have them.

Every senior was finishing their applications for college, and some were receiving acceptance letters. Thomas had applied to three other colleges, including ASU, that he applied to last month. The three Thomas applied to this time, included NYU. He was hoping to get into NYU so maybe he could go to the same college as Newt, so they wouldn't be so far apart. ASU was Thomas' dream, his grandmother went to ASU, but Thomas would do anything for Newt.

Thomas dropped Newt off at the diner for Newt's shift. He gave him a kiss then drove back home. Thomas parked his car in the drive way then got the mail from the mailbox. Thomas shuffled through it as he walked into the house, he came to a halt when he saw a large envelope.

He stared at it for a minute, it had his name on it, then he looked at the return address. It read, ASU. Arizona State University.

Thomas heart dropped. This was the letter that either accepted or denied Thomas into ASU. Thomas' heart was now pounding, he was worried, what if Arizona State didn't accept Thomas because of his expulsions. They wouldn't understand though. They don't know what really happened. Thomas remembered everything that happened.

The first time I was expelled I was in sixth grade. I had a best friend named Rachel, she has soft light brown hair, that always smelt like flowers. She was the nicest person I've ever known, she was the only one who knew about my situation at home. She was always there for me, no matter what. However, her being the nicest in our grade wasn't always a good thing. People picked on Rachel because she was too kind to stand up for herself. I had enough of people picking on her, the day they pushed her down in the library and cut her hair with a pair of scissors. When I saw this, I was filled with rage. I blacked for a second, but it was clear what I did when I came to. I took a book, the heaviest book around me and hit one of the bully's upside the head. His ear was bleeding and I gave him a severe concussion. As much as Rachel tried to defend me, they still expelled me. I never saw Rachel again.

The second time I was expelled was the worst, I was a literal ball of rage all the time. Seventh grade. If someone ran into me in the hallway, accident or not, I still punched them in the face, sometimes I broke their nose. However, that's not what got me expelled. What got me expelled was the day, I threw a paint jar at a boy who was harassing a girl. He threw a punch, and I broke his arm. Even though he was on the ground screaming in pain, I kept beating him. They said I could have killed him and that I was lucky that his family didn't press charges. I know that if they did, the girl I defended would have pressed charges back at him. I know this because she thanked me for helping her as I walked out of the school after being expelled.

Every time I was expelled, I was trying to help someone, but no one ever pays attention to that.

Thomas didn't open the letter. He couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, he went to find his dad. His dad was in the office of the house doing some paper work, when Thomas walked in.
