Thomas sat in the back of the van holding Newt's head in his lap, he kept his eyes on him, "Could you drive faster!"

Gally whipped his head back, his voice cracking, "There are traffic laws, I have to obey them!"

Thomas yelled right back at him, his hand on Newt's forehead it was warm not burning but the temperature rising, unknowing if it was from anger, fear, or from injury. "Not when someone is bleeding!"

"He wouldn't be bleeding if you stopped when he said too!"

Thomas wanted to get up and punch Winston in the face. However he stayed with Newt holding his head on his lap, Thomas smoothed Newt's hair down. Thomas kissed Newt's head, "I'm so sorry, this should've never happened. I didn't want to hurt you anymore."

At the hospital, they took Newt away from the misfits and stopped his eye from bleeding. There was no damage to Newt's eye just a small cut just below the eye. Once they cleaned it, Newt could see again. They asked him questions like abuse at home or in a relationship. Newt denied it all. He just wanted to go home his head throbbed and at this point, he just wanted to be alone in some quiet room that didn't have bright flickering florescent lights.

Mrs. Collins came running into the hospital with her daughter. Her eyes caught on Thomas she just stared at him until the doctor brought Newt out. Mrs. Collins hugged her son but he shimmed her way, she squeezes too tight.

The doctor "Mrs. Collins this is the fifth time, we've seen your son in the past year. Every time he comes here, he is bleeding. Are there issues at home?"

She shook her head, "No. No one at home would ever hurt him, we are all very happy. I don't know anyone who would want to hurt him now. His life has had some recent changes and there have been some different people he's been hanging around and I don't know-"

"Stop blaming other people, you don't know them. This was my fault." Newt muttered

"Alright Mrs. Collins, you can take him home. Make sure he gets some rest and fill a prescription for pain, and have a good rest of Christmas day. Perhaps you should keep a closer watch on your child."

She thanked him quietly and went to sign the papers to discharge her son.

Lizzy walked out of the hospital with Newt. He hadn't said a thing to her, he was tired and wasn't in the mood to start an argument with her. Which he knew she was brewing.

In the car, she snuck Newt's phone out of his pocket. She unlocked it and went to text Thomas. She knew he had something to do with this. Newt should've never given her this passcode.

Thomas sat on his bed, he was worried for Newt. He had been putting the boy through so much, could he really not protect the boy he cared so much about now? His heart felt like it was being tugged on, then his phone buzzed and he grabbed it.

Newt: Don't ever come near me again.

Thomas felt his heart drop all the way to the floor. He could have killed Newt and he hated himself for it. He understood that Newt didn't want to see him, but Thomas couldn't live without seeing Newt. He was the reason for his breathing and his livelihood. Sure Thomas had messed up so much but was it really the price to pay for all his wrongdoings? Take away the one thing that meant everything to him,

He laid back and stared at his ceiling. He missed Newt.

Newt woke up on his bed. His eye didn't hurt anymore and he could barely remember what happened. He sat up, he wanted to text Thomas and tell him that he was okay, that he forgives him, and that nothing was his fault.
