Missing

They waited for his call, sitting on Toni's large reclining futon. Yet, the call never came.

"The police should've gotten there by now, he should be in his way back" Toni said. She stood and began pacing around the room, running a hand through her hair. She was clearly distressed as to why Sweet Pea hadn't called back yet.

Cheryl grabbed the remote off the mahogany coffee table next to the couch and clicked the on button. The tv whirred to life.

"Flip it to the news channel" Toni said. Cheryl nodded and pressed the seven key on the remote. The tv flipped channels.

A female news reporter was on the tv, her long brown hair hung in curls on her shoulders. She had the mic up to her lips.

"A body has been found in the cemetery" the women began.

Toni gasped and threw herself into the couch next to Cheryl, worried that the body could be that of Sweet Pea.

"The police have identified the body as none other than Chic Cooper. His body was found with a bullet wound to the head and encased inside a black body bag. It is clear to police that the body was trying to be buried here in the Riverdale cemetery" the reporter said.

Toni breathed a sigh of relief as Cheryl continued to watch the television in silence.

"At least we know the body isn't sweet pea's" Cheryl remarked after a moment. Toni nodded her head and continued watching the tv.

"Blood not belonging to the victim was found at the crime scene, authorities are unable to identify the owner of the blood at this time" the reporter noted. "We will update you when we have further information on the case, I am Barbara Winters, thank you for watching Riverdale's only news station"

Then the program ended.

They both sat there in silence for awhile. "If the blood wasn't Chic's then that means it was either Sweet Pea's or Claudius' and I don't remember Claudius getting hurt enough to be oozing blood from any place" Toni began to ramble. "Plus why isn't Sweet Pea answering his phone. I'm seriously worried Cheryl, would if he is hurt, I can't believe I left him there by himself I'm a horrible friend and serpents are supposed to stick together. Gosh I'm so stupid, I-"

"Toni stop rambling" Cheryl said.

Just then the phone began ringing. It was Toni's home phone. She answered it. "Hello"

"If you want Sweet Pea back, meet by Sweet Water River, bring Cheryl, alert no one or the boy dies" a deep voice said.
