I kept reading the same comment over and over again:
"Too bad your sister is a slut"
Logan was literally one of my best mates, how could he say that?
I was currently sat in Jesse's living room, waiting for him to come back from training. He had moved back to Manchester after I came back and we've kind of been living together.
I have my own flat but I spend so many nights at his place we might as well be living together.
I was so caught up in trying to figure out what I had done to Logan that I didn't realize that the front door opened.
"Aura?" Jesse called
I stood up from the sofa and made my way to the kitchen where he was downing a bottle of water.
He was still a bit sweaty from his training session and his shirt clung to his toned body. This was a nice sight to see.
"Like what you see?" Jesse teased
I felt my skin heat up and made my way to the fridge.
"Shut up." I giggled
I grabbed myself an apple and bit down on it whilst sitting on the breakfast bar countertop.
"So how was training?" I asked whilst subtly eye up Jesse
"It was alright, we have a match soon so everything is very intense at the moment. How about you, anything new?"
"Nah, just... thinking"
"Oh dear, not again" I gave Jesse the finger before he laughed at me.
He walked closer to me and placed a hand on my cheek
"I'm joking, now what's really up?"
"Logan" I mumbled
Jesse pulled back, visibly irritated by my answer.
"I thought we talked about that dick, you aren't a slut Aura!"
"I know... but when one of your closet friends openly insults you it kinda hurts." I looked down as I couldn't let Jesse see how much it actually affected me.
"Aura," he put his hand under my chin and made me look at him.
"It doesn't matter what he thinks, he's only trying to get in your head and if you let that happen he's won. Just forget that dickhead"
"That dickhead is one of my closest friends" I snapped back
Jesse gave me this look, it was unreadable but I knew his response wasn't going to be "ok, sorry"
"Closest friends? Aura, he called you out for nothing. He publicly humiliated and accused you but you are still here defending him"
"Because he was there for me the most when no one else was"
"BECAUSE YOU WERE BEING STUBBORN AND ISOLATED YOURSELF" I was shocked by Jesse's outburst
I felt tears threaten to burst past my eyes so I bit my bottom lip to stop that from happening.
"Great, bringing out the waterworks, again"
I was so shocked by Jesse's words that the tears just fell. It seemed he was surprised too as his face immediately softened into a visage of regret.
I pushed myself off of the counter and walked into the living room, grabbing my dance bag and car keys.
"I'm going to see Marcus... don't worry I won't flee the country this time" I scorned
I got my phone and quickly told my brother I was coming, the whole time Jesse was apologising and trying to get me to stay.
"Wait, Auralee, babe don't go."
"We aren't even together Jesse. I know you wanted to repair our relationship but ever since I got back we just act as nothing happened. But something did happen and I can tell it's irritating you. So when you're ready to talk it out, I'll be at Marcus's...or my place...or the dance studio-- you know what just text me and I'll come round"
With that, I walked out the door, not even bothering to put my shoes on so I carried them in my hand.
I sat in my car, took a few deep breaths than began the journey to Marcus's place.
------
When I pulled into the driveway, I saw Marcus sat in the open doorway with 2 ciders in his hand. I got out of the car and walked towards him.
"You know I'm going to hurt him, right?" He said once I was close enough.
He handed me one of the drinks and we headed inside.
"Be my guest, but let me actually tell you what happened first."
