Hi, okay, so me and my friend, Rachel, are writing this book together. The first chapter we wrote together, but now we are going alternate chapters. At the bottom of each chapter we will sign so if you want to address one of us directly you know who wrote the chapter.

We really hope you enjoy and hope that you will comment and vote.

P.S. When it comes to my chapter it might take a little longer because i'm right in the middle of moving.

Chapter 1: Move Along

I moved quickly down the hall with my brown hair continuously falling into my face. Only a few more steps and I'll have made it to the end of the hall. I could hear footsteps at the other end, but I didn't bother to look; I knew who it was.

I turned left down another hall quickening my pace to a full run. The footsteps behind me grew faster and louder. I turned into the nearest room and slid the door closed.

"Shhh," a voice whispered into my ear as a hand clamped over my mouth.

Before I could scream or even bother to struggle I was released, "If you scream you die," said a voice from behind me.

I spun around and saw a familiar face in front of me, my ex-best friend Jaci. I looked down to see her outstretched arm. In her hand she held a knife that was pointed at me. Behind her was Alex. He looked worried.

"Tessa, you're bleeding," I put my hand up to my lip and winced. When I pulled my hand away there was dark sticky fluid dripped off my fingers.

I recalled seeing Nate walking about 50 feet behind me. I remember turning a corner and sprinting down an ally. I took a left and went through a pair of glass doors. I ran to the back of the building and out a metal door. I could hear Nate behind me; he was panting. "Tessa, I don't want to hurt you," I ran faster.

Suddenly his arm was around my waist his other arm under my arm; I bit my lip tasting blood. "What do you want from me?" I growled.

"Just Listen," I twisted to face him and he smiled at me.

"No," he had let go of me and I swung at his face, hitting his left cheek, and ran. I looked back and didn't see him. I made my way to the rendezvous

When I made it to the hallway I heard him behind me and then I was here.

I ignored Alex as I turned to Jaci, "What do you want?" I spat.

Meeting her here had been more work and trouble than I thought it would be. I really didn't think I would ever see her again since last summer. A lot had changed though and I guess after all this time I should know nothing would be easy or predictable.

"We needed to talk," she said looking at me with a hard expression; the knife was still pointed at me.

"I thought we agreed to forget about everything," I said looking her in the eyes (something I wasn't always able to do).

"We did, but people are starting to ask questions and..." She trailed off, but I knew exactly what she meant.

"You're going to turn me in," I said and guilt flashed across her face, "You're going to turn me in to save your own butt," I said with a sudden realization.

The anger that was growing inside me was unexplainable. One year ago Jaci and I got into some trouble and tried to handle it ourselves. In the end we just dug a deeper hole. By the time we realized this we both agreed that instead of solving the problem we would cover it up. We knew it wasn't the right thing to do; it was just the easiest.
