Chapter 23: The End Or Just The Beginning?

I woke to my phone ringing next to me. I looked around relizing that I was in the car. Everything that had happened over the last year flooded back.

Jessie, Nate, Alex, Zander, and everything else.

I knew that they would have gotten my note by now. I knew Zander would be upset. Jessie wouldn't be surprised. I knew she would tell Zander, but technically we weren't even together. I mean I liked him.

The sound of my phone ringing pulled me back into reality.

"Hello?" I asked as I answered it.

"Tessa, I have a friend waiting inside the RFC building." Adeline's said urgently.

"Huh?" I asked.

"Nat e called and said that you had run away and left a note saying something about stopping the RFC. He also told me you where in Colorado." She said.

"Nate called you?" I asked. Figures he would call Adeline. She's the only one who can truly help us.

"Yes, but never mind that. Do you know where the RFC base is?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm parked outside of it."

"Okay. I have someone waiting at. The back doors. She said to knock three times. She. Is going to ask you what your business is, say work. She will let you in and fill you in the rest of the way. Got it?" She said quickly.

"Yeah, I guess." I said then she hung up.

I got out of the car and went around the building to where the back door was. I k coked twice on the metal door. It creaked open. A young women, about 25, stuck her head out.

"What is your business here?" She asked in a whisper.

"Work." I said. A big grin spread across her face as she ushered me inside.

"Bell. My names Bell." She said.

She lead me down a hall and into a big room with tinted glass. I could see a large group, obviously in deep conversation, but there was something about the energy in the room that drew my attention. As I listened harder I realized what they were talking about.

Me.

"We need to find her," one said. He was a tall bald man sitting in the corner. "If we don't find her, she could cause some serious damage."

"1277N6, is too dangerous to be left on the streets," said a short women who resembled an apple.

I didn't know what to think about what these people were saying. All I knew was that they where talking about getting rid of me. Or at least that's what I thought it was.

Then another man spoke up. "She's not as dangerous as she seems, but she is a liability." Then the man turned around, and I knew who it was.

Veevien Thackolroy.

He was a traitor. I wanted to slap him across the face, multiple times.

"How could he do this to us?" I mumbled.

"Veevien just arrived yesterday." The women said from behind me. She was standing with her back against the wall and her hands clasp I front of her.

"Do you know why he's here?" I asked looking back at him.

"I'm not sure. My boss had me send out an email to each of them for an emergency meeting. She wouldn't tell me what the meeting was for though." She said with a frown.

"Your boss is a girl?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, why?" She asked back looking puzzled.

"No reason." I mumbled.
