I have never felt more alive
Than when I was an inch from death
I guess it's appropriate
How when in the instant life could be taken away
You feel the most present
I suppose it has something to do with treasuring your last moments
How the last few seconds of your life
In your hands
usually alone
Is the most important
Not the best memories
Or the feeling of the years you've lived
But the Millie second before you die
How you can feel everything in that instant
The breeze rushing along your skin
Skin that absorbs the water
Falling from the heavens
You will soon inhabit
Isn't it astonishing that in that singular moment you remember every reason you should live
