Halfway through what turned into a movie marathon it looked like some of them were passed out. Calum's head had fallen against the headboard with his mouth hanging open. Poor thing is probably going to have a bad neck cramp if he stays like that. Ashton was snoring softly and cuddling into Calum's leg. Luke looked like he was lulling was we watched "Tropic Thunder." It was a good movie, but everyone just got more and more tired. I couldn't tell how Michael was, but I assumed he was sleeping.

It had been a while since I had moved from my spot in the middle of the huddle. My legs were feeling weird and I didn't like it. I nudged Luke a bit telling him that I'm going to go upstairs to stretch my legs. He hummed in response trying his best to shift as I moved over him trying not to budge anyone. With a huff, I quietly made my way up the steps.

As soon as I got to the top of the stairs, I pulled out my phone. 2:28 in the afternoon. School would be getting out in an hour, or at least that's what my schedule says. I had completely forgotten about Rose! She'd come home without a sister or explanation. Mom would flip if she found out I skipped school.

Quickly, I pulled up the messaging app and started to text her. The best excuse I could think of was that I was staying after to talk with one of my teachers about some things for class, but how would she buy that if we have teacher-parent night coming up soon? Doesn't matter now. It's the only thing I can think of and it's the best thing I might be able to come up with right now anyways. Quickly, I typed in my excuse and sent the message hoping to whoever that she believes me.

There was a knock on the wall next to me and my eyes shot up the Michael with his knuckles by the door frame of the kitchen. I offered him a smile which he gingerly returned. "Get bored with us?" he asked stepping closer to the fridge.

"No, I just needed to stretch my legs is all." He nodded along pulling out a can of soda.

"Thanks for helping with the party planning," he said. He popped the top of the can and took a sip.

I slid my phone into my back pocket. "It's no big deal. Glad I could."

There was a short pause before he spoke again. "Do you sing at all?" For a moment I kind of looked at him. It took a second to realize what he said and he started laughing at himself. "Right, choir. That was a stupid question, I'm sorry."

Giggling, I waved it off. "You're fine. You were just trying to make conversation." I smiled at him when he gave me a relieved smirk.

Michael stepped closer to me leaning against the counter as I was before he pulled out his phone. He went through the huge list of songs he tried going through when we did our little challenge earlier. "What do you think you sing well?" he asked not taking his eyes off of his phone as he skimmed through the tracks.

I leaned a bit closer to him skimming along trying to think of things I thought I did well at. There were a lot of old songs on there that were just a mix of several genres. At some point I did find a song on there that caught my eye. I had him scroll back up a bit and play one of my favorites as a kid.

My heart swelled hearing Hey There Delilah play and I sang along as well as I remembered it. He seemed a bit surprised when I hit the note din the right octave. I did want to belt it out like I have so many times before, but I didn't want to risk waking up the others downstairs. He smiled at me as I got to the chorus and used my head voice as solidly as I could manage without being loud. There were a few parts in the songs where he even joined in and harmonized with me to make really color cords with the music. He did this really cool thing during the bridge that I thought was really cool and couldn't help but squeal at him.

"That was so good!" I gawked. Playfully, I pushed his arm watching him blush and look down at his feet with a smile. With a grunt, I pushed myself up and onto the counter top. "Are you in choir?"
