Calum's POV

I shut the door to my dad's hummer with my wallet in hand. Gas was pumping into the car as I walked to the doors leading into the station. I walked down the isles only stopping at the register when I had couple bags of pretzels and three waters.

Michael rolled down the passenger side window as I approached the car. I handed him the things I got. "What's with the extra water?" he asked.

"For tomorrow, mate," I said simply.

"You didn't need to do that."

"You're still getting over your cold! Fluids are your best friend!" He gave me a smile. I reached in to pat him on the shoulder before walking over to the gas pump. After I paid for the gas, I closed myself in the driver's seat and drove off.

Silence fell inside. Mikey was playing on his phone doing something. I tried to glance over, but I knew that wouldn't be the best choice seeing that I'm at the wheel. He snickered a couple times and continued playing.

"So," I began, "how about that Bambi?"

His eyes shot up. "She's pretty cool." That was all he said about it before he went back to his phone. I thought he would ramble on at least. Once in a while I'd see him sneak a glance at her while we were all over. I know something's going between them because she was doing the same thing. I can't tell yet if she's stuck in a little bubble, but if she turns out to have a lot of energy then she could be good for him. He's been around us plenty for us to know how quiet he can be.

I groaned. "Come on, man! You and I both know she's more than just 'cool!'" He turned his attention towards me. "She likes action movies, she can be a good tie-breaker for the four of us, and she into the arts! If she's just 'cool' after that then I don't know who you've been hanging around earlier."

Beside me I heard him scoff. "What else do you want me to say? She's already becoming one of us. I'm surprised she warmed up to us that easily."

"Me too." We turned a corner leading to the road that Michael lived on. I thought I might as well bring it up since we were on the topic. "So what were those sneaky glances you were taking?"

Instantly his attention flicked up to me. I took a look over to see his beet-red face. Awe, Mikey's got a crush! "You noticed?"

Chuckling, I responded, "Well, when you do a triple take every ten minutes. . . "

Embarrassed, he put his face in his hands and slid down the seat. He groaned, "Ugh, I'm so stupid!"

"How are you stupid?"

"She probably noticed me being a creep."

"That's not how I would put it, but I don't think she did." We pulled into his driveway just as the sun was beginning to set over the horizon. He looked out the window huffing out of his nostrils. "Hey, at least it's me talking about this. You know the other two will be all over you." I parked the car and looked over at my buddy. He looked so embarrassed I kind of felt bad for bringing it up.

Mikey huffed again. "You're right." He turned to me sitting up in his chair. "Was it that obvious?"

"Only when I was paying attention to you. But not so much." I watched him nod in relief. "So are you thinking of going red?"

He messed with his hair. Michael pulled down the visor to look in the mirror. His fingers combed through a couple times. "I don't know. I might go a little more subtle right now and do red later."

I gave him a smile. "Alright, just don't pick something that'll look nasty." He laughed before getting out of the Hummer and grabbing his things. As he got to the porch of his house, he turned back and waved. Gladly, I returned the gesture watching him disappear behind the door and I drove off.
