Bambi's POV

I hopped out of the car with Michael following suit. He pulled our backpacks from the trunk, handing me mine before walking over to the driver's window. The house in front of me wasn't what I had expected. It was smaller than Luke's and mine. The windows were sided by worn out shutters and weathered bricks. Only a couple cars sat in the driveway. One of them was an old minivan in a weird tan color and the other was a small car with a burgundy paint job and that looked a little newer. In the back window of the small one I saw a sticker of five tally marks in the bottom corner of the driver's side. I blinked staring at it until Michael pulled me from my thoughts.

His kind smile came into view. "Prepared to be confused?" he asked half jokingly.

"Schools always got me confused," I said. "This isn't anything new." He laughed and shook his head at the ground leading me up to his house.

We stopped at the front door of his house. Calum waved at us as he drove off to go home and left Michael to fiddle with the keys he pulled out of his pocket.

Why my heart was racing I don't exactly know. Maybe it was because a cute guy is actually letting me inside his house, let alone room probably. Oh fuck, is this going to turn into a really cheesy teen love story where two students find each other doing accidental touches at the hands? And that leads to goofing around and possibly me falling into him? Our eyes meet and his blue gems stare deep into my eyes before we share this "life-changing" kiss. My hands entangle themselves in his blond hair still hinted with the red from yesterday feeling their soft strands. His hands find their way up my waist and pull me closer to him. The taste of what he had for lunch would still be on his tongue with adrenaline pumping through our veins and our study session turns into—

"Welcome to my humble abode," he greeted opening the front door. I stepped inside first taking everything in. Inside I would probably compare to outdated trailers that had a bit of extra money, if I was being crude. Honestly, it wasn't that bad from what I guessed it would look.

The front room, which was to my left, had this set of furniture that had retro designs on it, but the cushions looked so comfy to sit on. It reminded me of the furniture we had to throw out before we moved because it was falling apart at the legs. The rest of it was mostly fine, but that another story in itself that I will treasure. The walls were bland and white with several family photos placed humbly around the room. The television that sat at the opposite wall was huge. I don't mean huge as it just the screen, no, this was a monster of a TV! It was all boxy and bulky and just like any old fashioned TV that somehow made the room work. There were even a few knick knacks on top of the television to compliment the others in the room in shelves and side tables.

Michael escorted me down a short ways, just past this office space, into a long hallway on my right. "Hey mum!" he shouted before turning the corner. There was a muffled response that I didn't hear well, but he did. "Just brought a friend over is all!" Another muffled response. "No one you know yet! They're gonna help me with something in class!" One last response came. Michael just laughed it off and directed me down to the last door on my left.

Opening the door, Michael motioned me inside. I was hit with the scent of Old Spice and pears just right in my face. Definitely digging it. There weren't as many posters up as Luke's room had, but there were some duplicates and bands and some new ones just covering one wall. The dresser and vanity sat on the wall opposite of the poster wall and to the left of us leaving the bed to sit directly across from us. It looked so comfy with the light from outside spilling over the pillows and showing off the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bedsheets and matching pillowcases. I glanced over at him scratching the back of his neck. "How long have you had those?" I asked with a smile.
