Walking in, the same feeling from yesterday returned as all eyes flared me down through the hall. The last thing I wanted was to be the center of attention in this way. I don't even know why they think I deserve it other than I'm fresh meat that needs to be beaten in. A tender piece of sirloin needing a pounding until it gets served into the cruel world we live in.
As the five of us ventured the halls for each other's lockers, I saw that the walls were still lined with the posters put up yesterday. The janitor started taking them down from the front of the school. Quickly, I snatched one that wasn't destroyed with silly string and whatever the fuck else people brought to school to throw at the walls. One of the words was really blurred from something I don't even know. Stuffing it in my backpack, I followed the weirdos along the halls finding Luke's and Calum's first and stopping at Michael's next. I wasn't particularly paying attention to what they were saying until I got roped into one.
"Bambi!" Calum said with his hand shaking my shoulder and me out of la-la land. I took a deep breath collecting myself. "What's worse? Spiders of something weird in your hair?"
"Something weird in my hair," I said without hesitation.
The boys looked at me. "Why not spiders?" Luke asked rather shocked. "They're creepy and gross and can jump on ya!" He jumped at me, taking hold of my biceps to further his emphasis on jump.
"That's why you've got to be smarter than the arachnid!" I retorted tapping my finger to my temple. "Besides, only a select few can really do you any harm."
Michael motioned behind us to get going to my and Ashton's lockers. We all made our way down the hall. Slowly I was beginning to get myself to look straight ahead of the crowd, but I would still peak over when I think someone's glaring at me. I'm always right when I do, but I'm just hoping nothing comes out of it as I open my locker to put in a few things I didn't think I'd need for the first few classes.
Luke leaned against the locker on the other side of mine. "Do you wanna make us all hanging out a regular thing?"
I glance over at him. "Is that even a question?" I let out an airy laugh before continuing. "I'm trying to get out of the house as much as I can this year and in as many ways as possible."
"Oh! Also, do you think you'd be able to pay for Starbucks on yours days of the route?"
"Yup! I've been getting a lot of gift cards for holidays so I think I'm set for the time being."
He smiled at me pleased. "I heard that our drama teacher isn't that bad. Apparently we're going to be watching movies and shit for the next week or two because of people dropping out of coming in."
"Really? That's dope!" I shut my locker before leaning against it watching Ashton struggle with something on the other side of me. My brows furrowed his way as a sarcastic smile spread onto my lips. "You good, my dude?"
He huffed turning to me. "Does it look like I am?" With a grunt, he shoved his hands in his locker creating a really weird sound. He stepped back a bit giving me a grin looking like he was starting to get frustrated.
I pushed myself off of my locker and looked inside. It looked like all of the excess cans of silly strings and whatever else was being shoved in there! There were even some extra flyers lining the walls of the small compartment. Clearly he was getting nowhere with this. I sighed, "I can take some of that if your having trouble."
He cocked a brow. "Sure?" he huffed turning his sarcastic grin into a great full smile. Carefully, he pulled out the cans of silly string and gave them to me before I shoved them into my own locker.
