"No! Get the hell out of my shop! You're the dick that stabbed me!" Cecilia raged at Alex when he walked in. "I thought you were a bear! 'Sides you left your phone," he responded holding it up. "Oh you mean when you had to carry me to the hospital 'cause you stabbed me!?" She snatched the phone with a glare."Love you too, babe! You're looking better by the way," Alex said grinning. "What do you want, Alex?" Cecilia asked sighing.
"Ma, you okay?" a small voice asked from the stairs. "Justin, I'm fine. Go back upstairs. Via," she replied. "I wanted to say I'm sorry, that's all," Alex said. "Now you have, so get out before I stab you," Cecilia snapped. Alex sighed, "Fine, but before I go, can I use your bathroom?" "Upstairs, light blue door," she relented. Alex gave a nod as he walked up the stairs.
About five minutes later a screech came from upstairs. Cassadee was out, so Cecilia rushed to the children's room. Alex was backed in a corner with Justin growling at him. "Justin, heel, back off all of you," Cecilia commanded calmly. She grabbed Alex by his shirt collar and dragged him out of the room.
"Are you okay, not hurt at all?" she asked examining him for injuries. He took her hand, "I'm fine really, I just walked into the wrong room." She snatched her hand back and used it to point at his face, "I swear to whatever god is listening that if I ever find you in there without permission again, I will have no mercy. You got it, Princess?" He nodded quickly. "When I asked if you were hurt I also meant are you bleeding, c'mon let's go get you doctored up, Alex," Cecilia said with a sigh.
She led him to the kitchen holding his hand. "Can we play doctor?" Alex asked cheekily. Cecilia smacked his uninjured arm, "No, shut up, Rapunzel!" She let herself laugh for a moment before getting to work.
"Why are you crinkling your nose like that? You look like a bunny," Alex said. "Well you smell like a trash bin, so you should shower when you get back to your motel," she responded. "I'm not staying at a hotel," he replied. "Then where have you and Daniel been stayin'?" Cecilia asked confused. Alex let out a chuckle, "Well, I've been sleeping in my car and Danny stays in your sister's room."
Cecilia scrunched her face up saying, "Go take a shower, dirt-grub! You know what, I'll show you to the bathroom myself." Alex smirked, "You can show me how to use the soap too." Cecilia rolled her eyes, " Alex DeCampi, I'll never know or want to understand how you are so charming even when you're hitting on me!" Alex smiled as they reached the bathroom, "Practice. Thanks, cupcake." He leaned down and kissed her cheek before slipping into the bathroom.
Cecilia touched her cheek when Cassadee walked in. Cecilia raced down the stairs. "Hey little sister, Danny, avoid the main bathroom and my room," Cecilia whispered. Cassadee and Daniel shared a look, "Is there a particular reason, big sister?" Cecilia laughed awkwardly, "Yeah, about that-" "Hey, cupcake, can I use this red soap?" Alex called from the shower.
"Shit!" Cecilia said under her breath. "Is that my brother, Alex!?" Daniel asked looking queasy. "If I said yes would you go back out?" Cecilia asked smiling uncomfortably. "Can I?" Alex yelled again. "Yeah, whatever, go ahead!" Cecilia called back.
"I'm going to be sick! My brother and YOU!?" Daniel whined. "One, I kinda hate him. Two, he using my shower, that's it! Three, you're the one screwing my little sister, you bitch! Four, the fuck you mean 'YOU'!?" Cecilia snapped. " Cecilia, calm down, your heritage is showing a bit." Cassadee said effectively calming her elder sister. " Alex, hurry up! We're going out! I'm gonna go cool off, okay. Watch the boys, please. Sorry Daniel." Cecilia told them smiling a bit. “Cupcake! You got any extra clothes?” Alex yelled from upstairs. Cecilia paled a bit, “Shit, I forgot about what he would wear! I’ll see y’all later. I’ll be right up, bacon bits!” Cassadee and Daniel stifled laughs as Cecilia walked upstairs.
“What’s up, buttercup? Second drawer there should be some boy’s clothes,” Cecilia told Alex as he leaned against one of her bedroom walls. He pulled out some boxers, a tee shirt, and cargo shorts, “Dropping now.” Cecilia averted her eyes with a squeak, “Alex! More warning next time!” Alex chuckled, “So, there will be a next time? I’m down for that.” Cecilia flopped back on her bed and flung her legs in the air and arms above her head, “Alex! You’re such a bum! Can you put some clothes on now?”
“Cecilia, I am dressed, been for a bit,” Alex said laughing. “You ass! Go get in your stupidly manly car! I’ll be out in a minute, I gotta change,” Cecilia yelped throwing a pillow at him. “Or I could help you change….” Alex said huskily plopping on the bed next to her. “Nope! You’re too much of a dick. Let’s go nerd,” Cecilia said getting up and pulling him with her.
“Where are you going?” Cassadee asked the pair as they came downstairs. “Out,” they said at the same time. “Be back by eleven!” Daniel piped up. “I’m nineteen! Leave me alone, Mom!” Cecilia said. Alex started laughing as he got pulled out the door. He went to get in the driver's side, but she slipped in, "I'm driving, cough up the keys."
Alex handed them over, "She's my Baby! Where are we even going!?" Cecilia gave him a look that screamed 'Shut the hell up before I stab you'. After a few minutes of silence Cecilia spoke, "How old are you, Alex?" He smiled a bit, "I'm twenty-two. Why ya askin', cupcake?" Cecilia stuttered slightly, "I, ugh, was just wondering. Nothin' else." Alex out right laughed, "I'm not gonna eat you, I'm just messin' around. Care to tell me where we're going?"
Cecilia shook her head, "Nope. Not at all, now hush, cupcake." Cecilia pulled into a forest clearing and walked away when she got out. "Wait for me! Cecilia! Wait!" Alex yelled as he stepped out of his Impala. "Nope! Keep up, Alex!" Cecilia yelled back as she picked up pace to a run. He raced after her quickly gaining on her laughing like a loon.
She looked back laughing just as hard so she didn't see the rock that tripped her. Alex caught up to her and caught her by the back of her shirt just before she fell. He pulled her to his chest, "Hey, it's okay, I gotcha." She swung her legs that were dangling a foot in the air slightly, "Thanks. Really. I really love being randomly hugged when I'm about to fall, but could you put me back on the ground?" He dropped her, "Wow, cupcake, you are tiny!" She rubbed her ankle from the ground, "Yeah, well, I swam in the gene pool on short as shit day." He helped her suppressing a laugh.
"What are we doing in the middle of nowhere?" Alex asked looking around. "I'm going to kill you and hide your body in a ditch," Cecilia told him with a straight face. "I think we should just go back to the car and talk, then go out to eat," Alex said laughing awkwardly as he backed up a few steps. "I'm not going to kill you, dipshit, calm down. I just like looking at the sunset out here. I have to usually walk, but you're around so I drove," Cecilia said grinning wolfishly. "Can we just go back to my car and talk, please? We can go to dinner and pull off the newlyweds act if you know enough," Alex asked nodding his head in the desired direction. Cecilia held her hand out, "Lead the way, my good sir!" He took her hand and together they ran back to the car.
