Not so Natural

Chapter Five -Dinner Is Served-

"It's going to rain," Cecilia said with a wary look to the skies. "Really?" Alex asked. "Yeah," Cecilia stated doodling on the dashboard with her nails. "You know I'm not blonde, right?" Alex asked brushing a hand through his short hair. "I'm not that blind. I know," Cecilia sighed rolling her window up. Alex exhaled loudly through his nose, "Are you alright?" Cecilia nodded staring at the heavy clouds. Alex pulled a cigarette out of the box and lit it between his teeth. Cecilia gave him a furious look out of the corner of her eyes. "What? I need one. I wanted to get it out of my system before we get to the restaurant," the elder of the pair slurred because of the cigarette between his lips. "You stink," Cecilia snapped as they pulled into the parking lot. Alex threw the offending stick away over his shoulder, "Better? Now smile, we need to act happy." He stopped her outside the large door and pulled her close, "You need to laugh or smile!" He nuzzled her neck with his nose. She broke out into a fit of giggles, "Let go! That's inappropriate!" He pulled her even closer with a wide grin, "Your giggles say otherwise." Suddenly the doors were wrenched open by a young man wearing a suit, "Am I interrupting something?" The pair jumped apart. "Nope, not at all!" Cecilia said with wide eyes. "Come on in, we just finished setting up your table, I'm Brian," he introduced himself. At the table they order small meals and talked. Brian winked at Alex from across the room whilst mouthing, 'Do it dude!' Alex got on one knee and pulled out a box, "Cecilia Moore, will you be my wife?" Cecilia gasped covering her mouth with a hand, "Holy shit! Uhm... Yes? Sorry that came out wrong, yes. Holy shit yes!" Alex looked relieved as he slipped the newly cleaned and polished ring on her finger.  Brian came over grinning, "Congratulations you two! The meal is on the house tonight." Cecilia absolutely beamed, "Thank you, Brian!" The couple left soon after all laughter and smiles. They made their way home in the pouring rain in a comfortable silence. The moment the pair walked into the apartment they heard the TV. "Cassie! Daniel! Where are you guys?" Cecilia called. They found the younger couple asleep on the couch.
