The night called for him. In the silence, he awoke. He sensed her, her howl. Immediately he ran for her, Ivan wasn't stopping him. Alex ran, as she stood up, her green eyes saw him and immediately softened. She wobbled at first, like a baby deer or giraffe, but her eyes were forever on Alex.
A part of Alex knew this was wrong. He was not alpha. He could not have her.
But his wolf told him he would. She darted away, she was very fast, Alex noted as she howled to the stars.
Graceful, beautiful, deadly. The way she walked, with a jump, her posture, a slight slouch with her head up.
Ivan saw her, forcing his wolf to go to her. He approached her, his Alpha-Male mind told him to assert his dominance, but his wolf told him to bow down to his new Queen. He denied them both, instead, he licked her chin, wanting her attention. She looked a him, licking his chin back.
Tim barely saw the blurry picture of the she-wolf, Clara was magnificent as a wolf. Clara galloped happily up to Tim, Tim bowed down before her. She was the Alpha Female, to be treated with the utmost respect. She barked at him, playfully, she lent down on her two front paws, sticking her tail in the air, her face was curious, energetic and childlike. Tim's wolf playfully swung his paw at her, she barked again, whining, wanting to play.
He barked back, running. Clara chased him, pounding past the old pine trees. The forest was gorgeous at night. Alex followed them, barking. Ivan watched the three of them leave, and immediately, he felt a darkness building inside of him, something colder, and just as empty as the darkness which was once there. Alex could not have her. No way in hell.
Olivia heard the howl from her three storey bedroom.
"Olivia. Do you hear that?" Charlotte called from the bathroom down the hallway. "Which wolf is that?"
"A she-wolf." Olivia answered. Charlotte had been pounding the wolf law into her head so much, Olivia was unable to stop thinking of the werewolves. Mainly, Tim.
She felt insanely angry at him for killing Clara, yet, there was a part of Olivia telling her, that there was more to the story then just survival.
Olivia knew that Tim would never take a life, which felt stupid, considering what he was.
Charlotte appeared at the doorway, dressed in a silk kimono, her wild hair pulled back and a tooth brush in her hand.
"Correct, Olivia. You're getting good at this-"
"Why did you pick me?" Olivia asked, cutting her off.
"Because I heard about your sister, and I knew you'd want revenge, and I needed an assistant." Charlotte replied with the same answer she gave Olivia everyday.
"When do we kill them?"
"I don't know yet." Charlotte replied.
"I don't know if I want to kill them, I mean, they might not be able to help it-" Olivia was thrown against the wall, Charlotte pinned her elbow into Olivia's neck. Charlotte's bold face was scary, her eyes were huge and her teeth were bared.
"Of course they can help it! They killed your sister. They killed your mother-"
"My mother?" Olivia coughed. "Don't bring my mum into this!"
"And they'll kill you too! So don't think for a second, that they have any remorse, any soul or mercy. They'll kill anyone if it means the safety of the pack!" Charlotte hissed these words into Olivia's ear.
Olivia spluttered as Charlotte dropped her.
"Your wittiness won't protect you against three werewolves and a she-wolf." Charlotte stormed away, slamming the antique door shut, the glass doorknob almost shattering. Olivia smiled.
"She thinks I'm witty."
A red jeep wound it's way around the bends of the old country road, which lead into the forest. A group of rowdy teenagers all drunk and stupid, played their music far too loud. Ivan's wolf heard them pile out of the car, by the sounds of it, there were six of them, each had their own dates.
Ivan's wolf followed them through the forest, keeping hidden when they shone the torch into the bush he was slouched in.
"Hey! Me and Tiffany are going to head back to the car! Meet you's there?" A male voice yelled, sloppy and drunk, he had his arm wrapped around the slight girl's waist, she grinned, her teeth shining in the dark.
"Yeah, whatever." Another male voice replied, just as drunk and illeterate as the first male.
Ivan followed the couple back to the car, just as he was getting the keys out, Ivan stepped on a twig, it snapped.
"What was that?" The girl asked, her eyes huge.
"Probably just a squirrel or something." The boy replied, "Why are you so scared?"
"Why aren't you scared? Remember, Samantha was killed by wolves only a couple weeks ago, and Clara Drake, she was taken by wolves." She said, crossing her arms. "I hope the others are okay."
"I'm sure they're fine." The boy replied, fumbling with the keys.
Ivan stepped out from the shadows, letting out a low growl. The girl instantly spotted him, covering her mouth so she wouldn't scream. She nudged her boyfriend, who looked up.
"Jesus Christ!" He cursed, Ivan growled in his direction, slinking towards the pair of them. His teeth were bared, his hackles raised.
"Open the car!" The girl shrieked, the boy stood stil, the keys in his hand. "Open the car!" She yelled.
Ivan growled at her, his sensitive ears did not need her incessant screeching.
Ivan paused, preparing to pounce on the girl, just as he launched himself through the air, the boy pushed the girl out of the way. Ivan landed on the boy, who screamed, as Ivan tore apart his face, attacking his hands that were trying to protect himself. Ivan tore apart the boy until he couldn't scream anymore. He heard the girl before he saw her. She was loud, running away from him.
He smirked, before taking off after her. He stuck to the shadows, making sure she didn't see him coming. And just when she least expected it, he ran at her, snarling and baring teeth. She screamed as she attempted to escape. Ivan looked at her, the girl was terrified, and it made him extremely happy. Ivan jumped on her, he pulled her limbs off, she screamed louder then the boy, he wanted to make her suffer for no apparent reason. After a few minutes, she lay limp in her own pool of blood. He left the bloody scene, no remorse.
Clara's wolf smelt the humans instantly. Two females and two males. She looked at Tim and Alex's wolves, both asleep. She slunk away, following her nose to a picnic area. She lay down on the soft green grass, her black fur blending into the darkness easily.
"So what about Clara Drake, hey, how weird is that?" One of the boys said, his voice was sluggish, and drunk.
"Yeah, they reckon the wolves took her."
"She's obviously dead."
"But here's the thing. They can't find the body, infact, the only thing they've found is her hoodie." The boy said, the girl beside him shivered.
"Her sister, Olivia, saw everything. She swears she saw Clara being dragged away. They sent her to a mental asylum. How sick is that? Do you think she actually saw something or just made it up?"
"She made it up." A familiar female voice said, "It's obvious. Olivia's always been the one to look for a way to become popular without having to work for it."
"A bit harsh, Tina." The boy aside from her commented. Tina shrugged.
"She was never nice to me, I don't see why I should be nice to her."
"I suppose. Hey, I think we should head back now. I think Tiff and Andrew are done their... business." The group laughed.
Clara arose, about to turn around when she saw Ivan's wolf behind her, he had a bloodstained muzzle. He looked at her, then at the humans.
I'll teach you how to be a real wolf.
