Running and surviving. That was Koa's life back then. How was it possible for her to be walking hand in hand with a friend along the beach? How? And a beach with dozens of people nonetheless. Back then, people would've either hunted her down or fled just by hearing her name. Was the world really bigger than she imagined? Maybe all of this was just a dream. A dream to save her from the musty, wet sewer she called home. To save her from the streets filled with robberies and violence. She looked at her friend and smiled. Koa had choppy, dark brown hair and eyes that clearly belonged to a killer. Her friend, on the other hand, had golden hair and eyes that sparkled like the ocean. His laugh echoed for miles making every child smile. She wished she could be like him, but knew she couldn't. Not after what happened back then. She felt as if she'd have to return home, to the sewer, at some point. It was as if she wasn't allowed to enjoy the peace and quiet she was experiencing. She squeezed her friend's hand as she recalled her past, filled with misfortune.
