"W-what?"
She smiled, "Austin, please. Give me a little time." You looked so at peace with herself, so happy.
"What happened at the police station?" I asked in a desperate attempt to change the course of conversation.
Her voice shook, "Since he didn't um. She paused as if saying the word itself would hurt her agao rape me, he can get a maximum of 10 years for assault. But, uh he's got a restraining order from me."
I dug my fingernails into my palm,"only 10 freaking years. Are you kidding me?"
She looked away.
"Don't leave me." It was such a beautiful day for something so terrible to be happening.
"Austin, I need some breathing room."
I looked away, "I love you Ally. I can't lose you." I looked into her eyes, trying to get something anything out of her. Any emotions. Any realization that she was there with me.
"Sorry." She murmered ever so slightly.
"Ally i- i." I wanted to say something.
She ran into my arms, and I buried my head into my neck. She smelled like the outdoors and apricots and cinnamon and we just stood there.
Then we pulled apart, and she stiffened a little bit.
"Goodbye Austin.", she walked away her legs crunching against the leaves.
