Is it just me?

It has been one hell of a ride here the past couple of months at the plastic beach. The members of the Gorillaz are troublesome but a whole lot of fun. Noodle and I have developed an amazing friendship, sad to say I have never had a girlfriend as nice as her in my life! 2D and Murdoc are the same as ever; constantly bickering and taking the piss out of each other. Meanwhile, I'm trying to fix up an old washed up boat so that I can go out and do Russel the favour I said I'd do: find the species that made him gigantic and find away for that symptom to go.

It's hot, the mid July heat is killer and I'm scrambling around the plastic beach looking for a panel for the boat I'm putting back together. Russel has been keeping me company every day whilst I fix this boat, the others come along at some point too. I pick up what looks like an appropriate sheet for the floor of the boat and haul it towards my "work shop."

"You need me to help, (y/n)?" Says Russel, looking down on me.

"I should be okay. I have just got to make sure that there is no way in hell a leakage can happen. After I'm finished with that I just need to toggle a couple of elements on the engine and it should be good to go-"

"Hello luv! Still working on this piece of crap? Looking much better I must say mmfph." Murdoc cheers a couple of metres away grinning with a glass in his hand, probably something alcoholic in it.

"The quicker she gets it done, the quicker I get to bein' cured Mudz. Either scram or help the girl out." Russel growls at Murdoc; his size obviously making Mudz feel a little on edge.

I hammer the sheet onto the floor of the boat, whilst checking it over for any holes or openings that could possibly seep water. It looks good.

"Phew..." I exhale a sigh of relief as I wipe the beadlets of sweat dotted along my forehead.

"Not bad sweetheart." Hisses Murdoc in a typically flirtatious voice. I can't tell if I'm getting used to it, or becoming fond of it.

As I stretch my arms I hear the sound of ice clinking on the surface of a glass. I turn, and Noodle is walking towards me with 2 glasses in her hands.

"Hey girl! I got refreshments! You outta take a break, this heat is killer!"

"Maybe I should" I mutter. "I'm so super close to finally finishing this boat!"

Noodle peeps over my shoulder to have a better look at the boat. She walks up to it and has a look at the newly pinned flooring.

"All I got left is to sort the engine out, find or make some fuel and give it a paint!" I grinned, feeling quite proud of myself.

"Jeeze, I remember the boys getting super pumped over this boat when they found it in the wreck, but they had no effort whatsoever to ever do anything with the mess. You have done the job, and done it well!" Noodle chirped with a smile.

"Well excuse ME but did you bother to fix the boat madam? No, so you can take what you just said and shove it right up yer bloody-"

Murdocs outrageous comment was abruptly silenced by a slap across the cheek from Noodle.

"Well, excuse ME, you green sod, that the only two people who wanted that boat to work was you and 2D! You watch your mouth around me mister otherwise I'll clog you harder next time you piece of shit." Noodle bursts.

Murdoc sticks his tongue out at Noodle in a childish manner whilst Noodle flips the bird back to his attitude. As much as their conversation is aggressive they both have cheeky smirks plastered across their faces, this to them is casual talk.

I take a sip of the beverage that Noodle had kindly given me and sit down on a old sofa pillow. The sky is clear, not a cloud in sight and the sun is penetrating through my skin. I feel hot to touch, possibly a little too hot. Maybe a dip would help.
