Chapter Eight

**** ok this chapter is really short, and i mean REALLY short only because I couldnt think of anything else to wite about, you will hopefully see why but yeah chapter nine gets interesting and is my favourite at the moment, let me know what you think comments? votes? maybe even some more fans? bye :) ~

Chapter 8

Michaela

That night I dream about seeing those orange eyes again, but instead of them frantically flying away from me they spring forward, with their talons stretched out. I try to push them away but it only provokes them even more. Their beaks edging closer to my face the more I struggle the more fun they seem to get out of it. Just as they are about to poke their shiny beaks onto my skin I wake up in a screaming mess, frantically trying to get my bearings.

My shouts obviously wake Mason who scrambles out from his bed and rushes over towards me. He relaxes my grip on the bed covers and slips in besides me, comforting me, cradling me in his arms. He tells me everything will be alright and as he does he fills me with warmth which makes me instantly relaxed by just being near him.

“Nightmares?” he asks me,

“Yeah, just a little one,” I wink at him and manage a smile.

“I know you said you will always be there to protect me Michaela but you know that I will be there for you as well, whenever you need me just call.”

That takes me by surprise a bit because he seems to have grown more confident in himself since we have arrived here.

“Yeah I know thanks,” I look up at his face that is slightly covered by his scruffy hair and I don’t know how but now that I look at him something inside of me feels different. I can’t think of what but something has definitely changed. Just as I’m about to speak Mason stops me by saying, “try to get back to sleep, I’ll stay right here besides you if you want me to,” I nod to answer his question before I find myself drifting back into sleep in the comfort of Mason’s arms.
