A D D I S O N

Party night at the Hemmings residence is not something unusual. Mom went to go visit dad in New York for a week. I wonder if Ryder is there. He can't slip my mind. But I know its gonna get easier to forget him. Just like I did before.

"Can you hang those faster?" Luke growls referring to the golden streamers I'm hanging on the door. Luke goes all out for parties. And being the most popular boy at school he has to throw the best parties. I roll my eyes hanging them faster. "You're lucky you're even invited after that stunt you pulled." Luke fills chip bowls. I turn around to face him.

"Stunt I pulled?" I ask.

"Getting us all in detention!" Luke says in his duh voice.

"How was that in anyway my fault?" I question.

Luke mutters something under his breath.

"Say it outloud Luke." I groan.

"Because you're adopted! A real Hemmings would never had gotten us all into that situation!" Luke growls. I stop what I'm doing feeling a bit numb. I bite my lip holding back a waterfall of tears.

"You know, of all the things you've ever said to me, that one got me." I shake my head running upstairs.

"Addison wait!-"

I slam my door shut and lock it. Tears flow as I fall to the ground. I search for my phone in my back pocket trying to find the one person I want to talk to right now. I scroll then call them.

"Hello?" He asks. I whimper not wanting to cry. "Hey- hey. Addison, its alright are you okay?" He asks.

"No." I start sobbing.

"Shush- hey honey calm down. Take a deep breath- just like me-" He takes a breath as I mimic him. "And let it go." I release the breath. "Keep doing that." He tells me softly.

"I don't know what I did to him." I cry silently.

"To who?"

"Luke." I tell him.

"Lukes an idiot. What did he say?"

"He said I'm not a real Hemmings because I was adopted." I say softly almost afraid of breaking.

"You're more than he is, acting like this." He tells me. We make a few more jokes before he has to go.

"Hey, Addison, I love you." He smiles.

"I love you, Ryder." I say quietly.

The line goes dead.

Some habits are harder to kick than others.

-

The party came fast. I was still sad.

I am just as much of a Hemmings as him. Just because I don't show him. Doesn't mean I'm not.

Fuck it.

They want me to be a Hemmings? I'll show them Hemmings.

I head downstairs into the sea of people. I grab a bottle of vodka off the table taking off the cap and starting to chug it. Teens clap and cheer. I smirk feeling the alcohol. I probably will regret this later. I start downing the vodka like its water. Walking away from the big group and into the kitchen.

"Addison! There you are! I was worried!" Nadias voice echoes in my head loudly. I smirk and turn around.

"Hi!" I pull her in for a hug feeling happy to see her.

"Are you drunk?" She asks. I look down at the bottle of vodka, almost gone already. I've never been this drunk this fast.

"Not drunk enough." I laugh downing the rest. My vision starting to blur. Not a good idea. I laugh. "This tastes like hand sanitizer."

"Probably is." She laughed at me. "No more drinking though." She said taking the bottle from me.

I pout. "That's my happy juice! Give it back!" I demand.

"Nope." She says putting it down and sending us to another room.

We walk into the living room and danced to the shitty/not so shitty music. music. The room was packed with people and I felt someone touching me from every side.

"Nadia I need more happy juice." I complain but she's no where to be found.

I look around but all I see are blurry faces. Well if she isn't here to tell me no than I shall do as I please.

I walk to the kitchen to find something else to drink. Finding a bottle of Brandy. I take it and the bottle of Jack. I giggle to myself pouring some concoction in a red solo cup. A wise man once said don't mix drinks. Good thing I got the fun man on my shoulder tell me to mix away.

I down the drink hearing the music playing as I sway my hips.

"Addison!" Ivy comes and hugs me.

"Hi!" I smile.

"Hi!" She laughs.

"Are you drunk?" I ask. She giggles nodding as I giggle back. "Where's that boyfriend of yours?" I ask.

"Dumped him. I think I'm gonna hook up with Calum!" She whispers in my ear.

"Hood?" I ask.

She nods.

"Make sure you wear a condom! Wait no--make sure he wears one, unless you have a dick. Do you have a dick?" I ask.

"No. I don't." We giggle and head to the dance floor. We start dancing but soon lose eachother in the piles of bodies. My head aches and I loved it. It was like the months before Ryder found me. The partying nevet stopped. And I love Ryder. I could say it so simply. He was a big part of my life. Its weird eithout him.

I feel big hands on my hips as I sway them to the music. My hands go up and into the boys hair. He mouth connects with my neck as I turn around to leave but see Ashton sporting his perfect sexy smirk.

"Hey princess." His husky drunk voice sends chills down my spine. He kisses up ny neck to my jawline.

"Ash what are you doing?" I pant.

"Lets go upstairs." He smiles he takes my small hand in his. I follow his pretty scent. We both wobble up the stairs. He fiddles with my door and pulls me in fall over my bed. I fall on top of him as we both start giggling. He holds my hand and kisses me softly.
